Can someone explain the stake out to me. Are the places the agents are shouting over the radio the places where the agents are, and I'm looking for Nico anywhere else but those places? I can't seem to get Nico at all...I have failed miserably, but not really sure I'm understanding exactly what I'm doing. Maybe a little bit of help from someone might help me figure it out? I don't know...or maybe I won't get and and will need a save. I would like to try though. Thanks.

The locations that the agents mentioned is where they are hiding.
They will show themselves in those places for a second.

Nico will appear in other location not mentioned by the agents. You click on him and the agents will check.

Click to find Nico 3 times in 3 different occasion before the police will catch him.

It is fun to do it - just remember the name of those locations mentioned by the agents. luck

OK. I am usually pretty good at card games, but I cannot seem to win at Scopa. I keep losing by 1 point! Is there some strategy that I am missing, or is it really just a matter of dumb luck?

Hello Hanna you have missed some thing .I did the same .Look to the left you will see some thing like a bolt .When you have done every thing the well will appear that side .I missed a message on the fax phone . luck
Hello Diane this game reminds me of trumps but the lower cards are worth more .Yes it can be won .I love cards so I had no probs .Try to get as many tricks as you can .To make the trick the cards in your hand have to add up to the cards in the centre .It can be 2 , 3 , 4 cards .Sat there is a 9 in the centre and you hold in your hand a 3 ,2, 4,Press those 3 cards and the 9 in the and you have won a trick.Try and get the coin cards as they win you a point if you get most of them and the 7 coins wins you a poin and scopa you clear the board.I hope this helps I m not to good at explaining stuff but I try wave

Thanks DragonUK44.... I thought I understand the rules of the game...I just can't seem to win! It seems like no matter how "smart" I try and play the game, Tazza always wins by 1 point! frown It sounds like you are saying that I can use more than one card in my hand at a time? I thought the cards in the center had to add up to *one* of the cards in my hand. Maybe that's where I've gone wrong... <hmmm>

Hi hannah,

Make sure that you listen to ALL extension number options on the fax machine at Fango's office.

Diane, good luck at trying Scopa again, let us know if you still have problems.

Diane,

You use one card in your hand only to take or to discard during your turn.
To take - it should add up to the cards on the table.

Remember the cards that give you high points and are counted higher than the rest:
Any 7 card (especially the coin suit), 6 and then aces.
The 7 cards are prime.
Get as many coin cards that you can take and that will be counted as one.
Try to do strategy to get scopa - that is to clear all the cards on the table.

Good luck.

Why don't I ever listen to myself? Since starting Nancy Drew's 'Design' game and deciding I wouldn't play any more Nancy games because maybe they weren't for me, I went and got the latest one. Now I hear it's got the 'game' Scopa in it (tried getting it in 'AnaCapri The Dream' and could not get the drift). I felt that was the only drawback of 'The Dream", now I've gotta try it again in what I feel is a weaker game? Please tell me there won't be cooking, too.

There's no cooking.

As for Scopa - the ND game explains the principle very clearly and the playing teaches you as you go along. You will be the master of it in no time - just remember the quality cards and keep on adding. Strategy as to what to pick up and discard. You can do it.

If it's any consolation, BubbaJake, the ND version of Scopa is much easier than the AnaCapri one.

There's no cooking in this one. I know you're secretly disappointed. wink

We're here to help you if you get stuck with the Scopa.

I feel - I dunno, silly!? For several days now (a week or more?) I have been trying to beat that timed sequence in this game near the very end - I have the w/t directions for shutting on/off the 5 guages, but have not been very successful, just cannot think and move fast enough. Rushes, would you happen to have a save for just after this scene (so I stop drowning please) but before exiting this chamber and climbing the rope ladder? I would be so grateful, want very much to see the end of this storyline and so looking forward to the next...phooey on arcade games and timed sequences in ND! grin
Love, Betty Lou

Hi Betty Lou,

I do have a save, but unfortunately my home internet access is currently kaput. frown Hopefully it will be fixed by tomorrow. I hope someone can rescue you with a saved game meanwhile; those gauges are tricky indeed. wave
