I have been playing Sherlock Holmes Nemesis, and am really impressed with this one, they seem to just keep getting better and better, I really love the way the did the museum, and allow us to look at EACH Painting and read about it, WELL DONE!!! love the next site, I dont even think I am half way through this game, the Graphics and ease of movement is GREAT, Love the Castle.. Anyway, just thought I would share about a COOL game, I think sometimes the puzzles in these games are HARD, for me anyway, maybe I am getting better at them, but this time, it has not been as hard, more flow to the tasks, which always makes the game much more enjoyable to me, I hate it when its so hard, I spend that frustration back and forth looking and all I think the puzzles in this one are JUST RIGHT , I love riddles... anyway, hope I didnt give to much away... I am still in the middle, ITS GREAT!!!! Marcia

I also loved walking around the National Gallery, looking at all the paintings. It was definitely my favourite location in the game. I found the puzzles to get progressively more difficult at the museum. Fun, but brainbending.

I have been playing Sherlock Holmes Nemesis, and am really impressed with this one, they seem to just keep getting better and better Couldn't agree more - Frogwares just seems to have the knack with 3D adventures (Dracula: Origin isn't too bad either, although it's not full 3D).

I agree with everything said here. I've just played the game and found it to be another fine entry in the Frogwares collection. They are, after all, the developers of 80 Days, one of my favorite games. There's just one thing I want to mention, though, and it's an uncharacteristically serious one (for me): One should never feed chocolate to a dog.

I disagree and think it is the worst game in the series. Can't understand why one would be lyrical about it. It's such poor and lousy game design. It's McDonald's for gamers, and there are so many games like that nowadays. Awakened was a rather nice game with varied locations and some suspense (though in no way the designers tried to make a great and unforgettable game). But Nemesis is totally uninspired. It starts already with a premise that gives away what will follow: Lupin will steal objects in places and Holmes will try to prevent this. So that will probably be very repetitive. And it is. The first (in-door) location: not one puzzle with a painting, but five or so, if I remember more or less correctly. You see the designers at work; they think: let's throw in another puzzle in here. For otherwise there's not much of interest of course and you know allready what will happen. So on to next closed environment, repeat the same procedure. I gave up in the British Museum. The weenies, linearity and predictablility simply became too much for me. I am not trying to convince anyone here; just thought a different opinion was needed after all this praise. Strange btw to see how opinions about this game and Frogwares differ in the forums of various game sites. See e.g. the open letter posted at Adventure Gamers: http://www.adventuregamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22815&highlight=holmes+lupin

I am not trying to convince anyone here; just thought a different opinion was needed after all this praise. I never understood why there is a need to interject negative whenever there is a positive thread. Why exactly is it "needed"? Do you fear that someone will try it and may actually enjoy it and you did not, therefore no one should? Is there a harm in letting someone know they liked something? Ana

Martinc, I think it really is about taste in Games, I am much more into puzzles, there are so many factors to gaming, I appreciate your point of view and glad we have a world were we can disagree and have so many choices ... I have had so much fun in this one, I loved all the puzzles, and riddles ... it seems also to me, Its not as hard, I can figure it out, for that reason seems to be about my hard level, (i could be getting better at them too) anyway, i AM LOVING sherlock games, when I watch the shows, I tend to not follow very well, the nice thing with a pc game is you can SLOW IT DOwn and really think about the Riddles and Clues, I am learning, most things are given if you just go back over everything LOL.. While playing this game initially, I was reminded of so many games, that I have played , and being in Various museums, you were not able to click on items to see what they were, this is part of the enjoyment for me, I loved seeing and reading about every picture, just for ART SAKE also the Museums, with the Egyptian and other exhibits , they were well done, lots to see... About half way through, I remembered part of this enjoyment came from the fact, that I grew up as an air force brat, and traveled to Italy, France , England, Greece and saw many of the Statues in person... It was ages 9-12, wish I could go back.. THE HISTORY in EUROPE is so amazing, in the usa we just dont have that same history, of thousands of years... anyway, this really is off the subject now. lol side note: I was also very very surprised about the Dog food possibility, its a horrible accident waiting to happen ... I was surprised by the option. Marcia

Sounds as if the good Rev has a personal ax to grind - Different strokes for different folks.

Benedict, Tex Murphy was one of my favorite games. It would be wonderful if a game producer like Frogware would take off where Tex Murphy ended. I personally love Sherlock Holmes when he solves murder mysteries and look forward to the next Sherlock Holmes by frogware. Other opinions of games I always do value because there is always two sides of the coins. This way I get an idea of the pros and cons. I do appreciate what MartinC wrote also so I can read the cons of the purchase as well as when someone writes what they do like about a game. Thus far I haven't been interested in purchasing the game especially in regards to complaints of motion sickness with the game and stealing art doesn't appeal to me as much as solving more serious crimes. Thats just one opinion though. Nemisis is the only Sherlock Holmes I haven't purchased since they first came out in game format dating all the way back to one of my favorite, The Scarlet Rose, Oh that game was such fun! EDIT........................ Hmm Ana, I just read what you wrote and I love riddles! Everyday the first thing I do on BFG is go to riddle of the day, the day doesn't start until I solve a riddle. Hmm is there a demo of this game, would like to check out the riddles if for no other reason. lol
