I am having trouble with the staircase in the library. I have winched the chandelier down and clicked on it to reveal something. I click on the stairs and they end up on the first floor very small and then disappear! I have tried it half a dozen times now with the same result.Has anybody got a saved game just past this point? Are the stairs now in your inventory? Now that you know you have to use them, you should be able to take them from inventory and click them on the chandelier. That'll set them up so you can retrieve the object. Try that and see how you get on, let us know if you still have problems.
