I have been stuck in this part of the game for 2 days now. How exactly do I use the charm, when do I know I have got rid of a phantom and how many do I have to get rid of before I can progress to church? Maybe a saved game here might help as I am finding this part rather tricky.

Are you at the train tracks or the church? If you're at the tracks, hold the charm and click on the ghosts as they appear.

I am at the tracks - I am not very good at this part how do you know you have successfully warded off one of the ghosts and are there many of them? Do I have to move the charm and get a direct hit. Hope this area isnt going to prove too much like an arcade type game as that is why I prefer adventure games.

Each ghost will disappear once you have clicked the charm on it. Be as quick as you can to move the charm and click on the ghosts as they appear. Yes, there are a few of them. , you can do it.

If one of the ghots gets me, do I have to start from begining or does each ghost I get count towards solving the puzzle?

You won't have to restart; each ghost counts towards getting through the black mist.

Yippee have managed this part (easier than I thought). Have now progressed to collecting the plants to defeat the black mist have got all but one - namely the witch's bane after collecting the ash thorn I thought I had followed the directions but ended back on the path to Raven Lane. Could someone help to direct me please to the right location.

Hi, I am now saving at the point just before what I anticipate to be an ordeal. I go back to the start of the gathering of plants and work through it step by step, I kept going astray and the first time I couln't get one of them. I went back and concentrated and now I have them all and I can't get them to stick around the closed door. Assuming they mean the closed main entrance. How do they attach to the door frame, please.

Babs, glad you got those ghosts!

Here are some directions to the Witch's Bane:

The starting point is the side path from the entrance to the closed door of the church.
Go around the church walls to the other side.
At the right corner, forward and dogleg to the back side of the church. Be just off the church wall.
Go forward twice, then turn right and go forward once.
Turn left and pick up the #4 Witch's Bane.


Johnnycowgirl: You need to be at the door that emits the black mist when you are close to it - this is not the main entrance door, but one of the doors around the side of the church.

I have managed to find last plant, but I am just not quick enough to place them on door before the mist defeats me. Does anyone have a saved game for this point before I tear out my hair and go bald, plus this game is too good to put on the back burner and I dearly want to continue.

Thanks for the save MaG it saved my sanity. I have progressed a little more into the game until I got tired and went to bed last night. What would I do without you all at GameBoomers.

Could I have a saved game please, MaG, that door in the churchyard is driving me mad. I used to think I wouldn't mind living next to cemetry but I've changed my mind. I never want to go into a cemetry at night ever again. I thought when I found the plants it was as good as all over. I can't remember if my email addy is in my profile or not. I'll send it to you anyway.

I believe the saves for this game are in "my documents".

I have found some from ND/Venice and White Wolf too. I can't see a folder for Lost Crown. I have done loads of saves and started writing over old ones. Looks like I have some searching to do.

Found in a folder called saved games. Interestingly all the others just went into My Documents as usual. Vista! Some things are the same some a bit diferent. Thanks again for the help..

The folder is in My Documents and is labeled 'The Lost Crown'.
