Just downloaded the 1 hour test and this is a different type of game. Typical HOG but with some plesantly different puzzles. The objects are a bit obscure but not annoying. The option of using timed or unlimited time mode. Random clicking brings up the reminder that it is not pleased. Hints are available and can be increased by finding additional objects. I think I will enjoy this one, anxious to see what others think about it.

I saw the timer on the screenshot and was worried. So good to hear that you can turn it off!

I came, I saw, I bought. I like this one. Like Cherie mentioned, the objects are a little more well hidden (reminds me of the difficulty level of the Agatha Christie HOGs) so it's a good challenge for those that found a recent release (The Race -- bought that one too!) too easy.

Hey Misa...

I agree. I bought as well. I really like this one. I have been waiting a long time for a good HOG, I've finished all of the ones that I have, so lately I've had nothing to play...how boring is that? I'm happy again. Thanks BFG. I like he mini games as well. The items are a little obscure as was stated above, but not so that it turns you off the game. Good One!

I played the demo this AM and then bought the game, and I had to start over from scratch. It could turn out to be quite a long game, as she has to find items for all the rooms in her house to decorate it. I have just completed 3 rooms and am now on the fourth. The puzzles are varied in that some of them have 5 steps to complete, like spray painting stuff putting things that are broken back together. You also get stars for the speed you complete the puzzles. I am playing with a timer (my choice) and I find that there is lots of time given, however I have noticed as you complete each level, you have more objects to find.

I tried the one hour trial. I don't have any sound at all. My other HOG games works.
Have done all the Java trouble shooting, downloaded the latest version too. I'm about to run out of my trial period and still no sound. frown
I have sent a support inquiry and am waiting for response.
Hopefully they can help me resolve the issue so that I can buy the game. cry

I played for 20 minutes and bought it. I'm playing with timer also, I don't know why, but there is lots of it, for now anyway.

I love the different puzzles, I like the decorating aspect also.

Cool game.

I simply love playing this game. However! I am decorating the game room & can't find the rowboat oar on the boat. Bob's Boat.
Has anyone got it yet?

Just finished the game. I really enjoyed it. It's amazing what you can do with stuff picked up at yard sales. I am sure some "real" people could get a few tips from this game.

dorish - maybe you can help me ... I'm stuck at the level where I have to find about a gazillion equations ... found lots, but still have 16 more to go ... however did you do it?

remember the Civil War game? I think it was Margie at Gamezebo who gave us lots of tips for finding these impossible things. It would be nice to have something similar for this one

other than that, we're loving this game ... very different and fresh ideas ... improving my vocabulary as well ... to the dictionary many times to look up words like finial, trimere, baluster

the new Rooms game looks interesting too ... more different approaches

Hi Menahune, I just tried to save as many hints as I could(never had more than 6). I kept going back to the map and checking out spots again. It's amazing what you can find second time around that you didn't see the first time. I also had to use a few hints to find some of the equations.I knew what the words meant, it was FINDING them that was the hard part. I don't think the objects in this game are as hard to find as in the Civil War game---some of them were almost microscopic. I am finding that a lot of HOG games seem to be making there objects smaller these days. Not good for someone like me who has to wear glasses Lol.

Unfortunately, the graphics were fuzzy and a little too garish for my imperfect eyes. I am disappointed as it sounds like a game I would otherwise enjoy.

When I started the demo, I didn't think I would like this game. It seemed much too easy to refurbish the items between rounds. Then I got hooked on what she would find next and how she would use it to make new decor. By the time my hour was up, I couldn't wait to purchase the game.

Unfortunately, I lost my progress and had to start all over again after the game was unlocked. This was a little unusual as most games save and continue between demo and purchase. I love the on/off option for the timer!

I just love the whimsical characters and all the cute puns. For a change, the items in each scene are appropriate. No dynamite or thimbles or baseballs. Bravo - great game!

Patsy, the oar is toward the right side toward the back of the scene. The blade of the oar is sticking straight up.

Menahune, there certainly are a ton of equations and they are scribbled EVERYWHERE. Just keep looking. I found them all eventually.

The star you find for hints will start to twinkle after a few seconds. In the tour mode where you get to find every item in each scene, start looking for stars first because there are multiple stars in each scene and as you find one, the next star will twinkle.

I absolutely LOVE this game that combines finding objects with decorating. How genuinely brilliant.

I won't tell you the objects are easy to find though, for they are quite difficult to locate. The graphics are clear but when you are looking for something in the distance it isn't as clear but I think that's part of the challenge.

I like everything about the game (which I bought before the end of the demo) except the lack of hints. I ran out right away and am now working with none LOL. If there are more than one star per scene I have not found it.

Did anyone find the lampshade without a clue?

The scenes are adorable as are the characters. There is not a lot of boring reading either.

This one is a keeper.

menahune, I"m not that far yet but will see what I can do to speed things up. smile

PS-- Due to my lack of hints I started the game again with another name and lo and behold the game is very replayable... the lists of items to find was completely different.

I give this game a thumbsup
