Hi everyone! I haven't been around in quite awhile! I miss the Boomers!! Not only have I crawled out of the moth-balls, but I'm playing a game right out of the moth-balls as well! I just recently got an old PC with Windows 98 working and am now playing some of my OLD games that I was never able to get to run right on my newer PC's. Gabriel Knight - Sins of the Fathers is one game I've NEVER played before. So I loaded it up and am now playing - and really enjoying, until now. I'm in day #9, and am trying to outrun these stupid zombies. I've read all the walkthroughs, and they say just to out-run them. The one thing I hate MOST OF ALL in Adventure Games are timed sequences, especially this kind. And I've tried over and over, and no matter what, I can't get past these things. Is there anybody out there that might have a saved game file for day #9? Or can somebody point me to a website that might have saved game files for old games? Thanks! Mike.

Hi, mbc841!
I'm sorry I can't help you out with a saved game either, but I dug out my notes and here's what worked for me.
Room #3 - as soon as the first mummy comes out of the ground, click boot on north exit.
Room #4 - click boot immediately on north exit.
Room #5 - click boot at the bottom of the right wall about midway and then click boot immediately on north exit. If the mummy still gets you, try waiting a split second between clicking on the wall and clicking on the north exit.
Room #6 - Make like tarzan and swing into action (I believe you may have to use the "operate" icon on the vine)!!
I hope this helps, and good luck! I remember it took me forever to get through this part, but I finally did it, so don't give up.
I really envy you playing GK1 for the first time because the Gabriel Knight series is one of my all-time favorites. Jane Jensen is an amazing storyteller!

Hi MaG! How's it going? I really miss you guys! I started a new job which really kept me busy, but now I think things will slow down. I'm trying to get back into playing games - and I'm going to try and start visiting the forums more! Thanks Susan for the hints . . I'll give it a try! Mike.

Hi mbc841, If you're still having trouble with Room 5, here's a tip I found (on UHS I believe): "In Room 5 the mummy is blocking the door. Go back to Room 4 and then quickly re-enter Room 5. The mummy will have its back to you and you can walk around it and hurry through the door." After trying over and over to get past that mummy, this tip worked first time for me. Hope it will for you as well. Jema

Hi Rushes, You're so welcome. I was pulling my hair out in Room 5 until I found that tip. If mbc sees it, I hope it works as well for him as it did for me. Jema

Thanks everyone! Jema, I tried what you said and it looked like I was going out the door, but then the mummy kept getting me anyway! ARGG!! I also tried Susie's trick of clicking midway at the bottom of the right wall, then clicking immediately at the door, and after a couple tries, it worked!! Wheh! I was relieved! Now i'm on my way! Thanks again everyone! Oh, btw, after I finish this, I have GK2 and GK3 on the shelf waiting to be played. I can't believe I've had these games for so long and never played them - that the BAAGS in me! Mike.

Hi mbc Sorry it didn't work, but happy Susie's did. I'm sure you're glad to be past that spot. Enjoy the rest of the game. Jema
