Help! I'm stuck in the space station light pods and can't get out. I've been working on this thing for 2 days. I cannot get the light beams to the eye on the wall. For someone who is directionally challanged anyway, this puzzle is incompletable. Does anyone have a saved game? Or some advice? I've looked at the walkthrough and still can't get the beams to go where they're supposed to!

The installation of the saved game is picky.
So follow the directions carefully.
On the way. luck

Just wanted to let you know--I (somehow) got the lights to get to the eye--trial (lots of it) and error (even more). I got as far in your instructions for the saved game to the program files, Mysterious Journey, and Save, but I don't have a Player folder. All I have is ScreenSave.dtx. Anyway, I made it, but thought I'd let you know about the Player folder thing. Don't know what that means--the game is working just fine. I have Vista, if that means anything.
Thanks again for your time.

I'm back. This is going to be a game where if I can even follow the walkthrough, it'll be a miracle! I'm at the path blocked by the fans. I've set bars 1-7 per instructions, but when I go to the console, it only moves one fan at a time, not all 7. I've done this several times, starting over from a saved game. It doesn't seem to matter which number I use first--I've tried them all. What in the world am I doing wrong this time???

I don't know Vista. Maybe do a search.
- Go to console. Set the arrow to any position from 1-7 except 3 or 6 and press the center button.

See if you adjust the console to any position from 1-7 except 3 or 6.

It simply doesn't work. I've even tried to go straight to the 8-16 bars. The console will move only one bar at a time. I've printed out the page from the walkthrough so I know I'm following it exactly. Could there be a bug of some sort? Should I go to the Adventure Company site? I'm at a loss.

Does anyone else have Vista and have the same problem?

I mean--the console will move only one fan at a time.

If the console doesn't do anything; the bars are not set up correctly. Best to recheck all the step by step and double check visually that the bars are in the place it should be.

You need to connect cables 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7 and 8, 11, 12, 13 and 16. The other numbers-bars are already connected so no need to do them.

I have to bid you Goodnight!

Finally. It only took me a day and a half to realize that I should have been moving from left to right--not right to left. I think I may have fried a portion of my brain somewhere along the line. Thanks for your patience with such a goof as I am!

I'm now stuck at the round door after going through the correct side of the portals. The walkthrough says to delete any saved games & start at the beginning of that segment. I still can't find any saved games in the Mysterious Journey II folder. Can anyone give me the file extension for a saved game? Then I could do a search in my computer. The only thing I have in Save in ScreenSaver.dtx. That extension doesn't give me anything else. I tried going back to the auto saved game before getting onto the elevator, but got the same result. The Adventure Company web site must be down at the moment--I can't access them, but I'll keep trying. I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

I don't know where the saves are in Vista.

In XP, they are in C drive,Program Files, Mysterious Journey 2, Save and then Player folders.

The saves are in Slot## folders.
Each of those folders has: Reload folder, Working folder, slot##.txt and a thumb_#.dtx file.

Thanks, I'll search for the txt files. I'm afrraid I'll have to uninstall and redo the entire game! Yikes.

------------
This is for anyone else who has Vista--I found (at long last) that I can delete a saved game by starting the game, going to Load Game, highlighting (not clicking on) a saved game and then hitting the delete key. I still don't know where the games are in my computer, but at least I won't have to start all over again. Maybe this is just a quirk of Vista, I don't know.

Oops, I'm so sorry. I didn't realize I should have used the edit key instead of replying.

-----------
Ok, I deleted the saved games up to the auto save going into the tower. I still cannot get into the round door. Also, all of the gates are already in the correct positions when I look through the telescopes. That seems a little strange to me. Is there anything I should be doing differently? I even cleaned out my recycle bin in case the deleted games were still affecting the game. No luck.

pam,

When you highlight the saved games on load, can you right click it.
If so, check if there's properties. If you see it - open it and see what the address is stated.

Please use the 'edit' button at bottom right beside the reply button if you want to add info on a recent posting and no one has posted after you. This way - you can help us a bit on bandwidth. Thanks for your cooperation.

As for the telescopes, did you use both lenses and then looked through the telescope.
This way you can identify which gate is off.
They are not in the correct position yet.
You should turn the gates to have the blue ones at outside position.
Be careful also that you are not taking off the lens when you look through the telescope.
There is an area where there are 2 telescopes - so check that you didn't miss it. luck

I will use the edit button when adding to my own posting from now on. Thanks for the help.
There's no response when right-clicking the load games within the program. Yes, I'm using both filters, and even started with the 2 telescopes. I'm wondering if I should shut down and reboot. I'm at a loss. The first time I did the telescope puzzle, I did have to move the protals. But when i go back to the auto saved game, the portals are all in the correct positions. Maybe the delete button in the game itself doesn't make the game revert to the earlier save; I just don't know. I'll let you know if the shut-down/reboot thing helps. If not, I guess I'll try going back further to see if it makes a difference. Thanks for all your time.

Finally and at long last. I rebooted. I deleted the auto saved game at the tower and began again at the Transai skyport. I did the light puzzle again (this time I just used the walkthrough instead of doing it myself--a lot faster!), went through the woods and did the whol telescope thing again. This time, most of the portals did need moved. and I am through the round door. Hooray! I have no idea if all this was due to Vista or if it was b because I tried to do the tower myself at first and moved around from exit to exit before getting to the 6th level. At any rate, I'm on my way again. Thank you so very much, MaG. You have the patience of a saint!
