Hi all. I'm just getting started here and trying to get oriented to this very atmospheric game. I have moved through some rooms and I am not quite sure what I am seeing... and therefore how best to proceed. I have read the stuff so far...any tips and/or players that out there are welcome.

Gaily, Wish I could help you, I've just started too. We'll have to wait for someone who's playing and can help.

Hi Gaily! Good idea what you're doing, to try and orient yourself. It does seem a bit overwhelming at first, doesn't it? But there aren't many rooms. See if you can't find a key to let you in the locked room. Then go through the rooms picking up anything you can (just a few items besides all the reading stuff), and note places that show an action that you can do at some point, but you can't yet. The reading gives lots of clues on what you're going to need to do.

Well, I am bumbling around in these rooms too and have found the key and unlocked the door. I have found quite a lot to read and have and also found a leaf. I can turn a machine on in the basement part but don't know if I should do this. Anymore ideas?

Lotus, Have you found an empty inhaler? Did you find some scissors to fix the tubing of the machine to the left of the plants? When you turned the machine on in the basement, did a fuse light up on the light switch in the room with the capsule?

I found the empty inhaler and learned to chop up the leaf into little pieces. I have looked everywhere for some tubing to fix that machine and no, I didn't find the scissors. And yes, after I turned on the machine in the basement the fuse lit up in the other room. I did turn the handle on the pipe at the end of the lab/garden room. I also found a fuse that fit into the side thingee on the capsule. Guess I better look for some scissors.... There is another locked door also, I think in the study and also one in the hall. Haven't found anymore keys.... Thanks TLC. I will probably be back. Lotus

TLC, you were so correct. I not only found that book and scissors but also a note by the door. I had already found the tubing and didn't realize it. NOW, I have to do some reading and see if I can find how much ether and alcohol to use in the inhaler. I am quite certain I will be back with more qestions, lol. Thanks so much. Lotus

Oh, I'm back alright. How do you know which tube is alcohol and which is ether? I have gotten the third light to come on with the organophone machine but can't figure out for the life of me what to do next. The machine on the wall in the next room has the light on but is still inopperative. I did find the valve handle for the fourth valve in the basement and that machine is running but I am not sure if I have done that correctly either?? And to think I played games without a WT before I discovered GB, ha. And I am very greatful for all of your help and assistance. Lotus

Thanks Wyatthawk and Rushes. I did replace the fuse in the capsule. BTW, where are the clues that told you how to turn these valves?? Just waaay too curious. I'm off to see what happens next!! Welcome to GameBoomers from me too, the best game site EVER!!

Lotus, I have no idea where the clues are for the valves or inside the capsule. I found the answers here in a post.

I feel sooo stupid. I am just not getting any further. I have the crushed leaf in the inhaler and the proper mixes of alcohol and ether. The machine in the basement is set correctly and the one in the study has three lights on. I have nothing else in my inventory and have been trying to hard to be methodical but am not finding anything else or figuring out anything else. I have looked at the main Outcry listing but cannot get past the point where I am STUCK! Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much. Lotus

TLC, no there is only one fuse lit but I have put a fuse in the side of the capsule. The switches don't work for me. S-I-G-H-...

Lotus, Both fuses need to be lit on the light switch. You might want to check the machine in the basement, I don't think its set correctly. The valves settings are, Turn all of the valves to the right. Then turn the first one to the left 6 times, the 2nd leave as is, the 3rd move to the left 2 times, then the 4th valve turn to the left 3 times.
