I played one version of the game and my mom played the other and the endings sounded the same to me? Can anyone either PM me or wrap a spoiler around the 2 endings? It's driving me nuts!

Sorry Patricia, I played once and couldn't begin to tell you what the ending was. I rarely pay attention to the stories. Ana

I can't remember which I chose for sure. But I think it was relaxed mode because it gave me lots more time than I needed, even though there was a timer ticking down. The ending I got was It was revealed as a result of your investigation that Francis' now elderly daughter had poisoned Johann and was taken away in handcuffs by the authorities. She'd felt guilty after Francis' luck and health had declined after Johann's death, and had been the one playing the sonatas as a sort of tribute to his memory. Of course she won't be doing that any more now that she's in jail, probably on death row, thanks to you. Talk about your depressing endings... If you got a different ending with the timed mode, please post back. The timed mode is supposed to be the "normal" ending and the relaxed mode the "alternate" ending.

That is the ending I got too. For some reason though, I can't play the timed mode - I just keep getting the relaxed mode. It refuses to go to the timed mode. :-(
i'm not perfect, but i'm perfectly human. Grant me serenity to accept what can't change, courage to change what can & wisdom to know the difference

Yes, I played the timed mode with no trouble and got a much happier ending. I'm paraphrasing here of what I remember, it's been awhile. Francis' wife left him when he revealed that he had a daughter by someone else, she ruined him and he and his daughter lived together until his death. He taught her to play and she was the ghost that you hear playing the moonlight sonata which he had played for her as a child... or something like that, either way it was a happier ending.

Thanks. I'll try harder to get the timed mode working. Unfortunately I think I may have the same problem as Rainbowlady. By the way It was Johann who told his daughter about Francis' daughter in the ending I got -- while on his deathbed. It was not Francis who told her. So there's another difference.
