When I went back into my game to place the horse shoe, the game started over!! Now I can't figure out where to use the cup with water and the seeds in the english manor. HELP!!

Thanks to Scarlet. Now I know why I couldn't finish the staff. I'm not sure however that I will. I simply don't know how to do the string puzzle. I did one years ago but it was easier to see ad I don't remember how to do it. Any pointers? Thanks

Hi Patsy: They call that puzzle "crossed beams" which I'm guessing means beams of light. The beam is green when it's untangled/uncrossed and a kind of tan color when it's still crossed. All the light beams have to be green. It was certainly a doozy and I hate to tell you, but there are two of these puzzles in the game.

It helped me to visualize the tangled mess three-dimensionally like a hopelessly tangled garden hose or the chain to a necklace with knots in it. You know how you have to lengthen and shorten the coils to get it untwisted...just do the same with the puzzle. Lengthen and shorten the coils by moving the little circles in and out.

I'll call the circles "lights". Move the lights around to clear some space, then move one or two in toward the center while moving others outward to see if the beams change from tan to green. As you get more green beams you'll be able to tell which lights need to be moved. I moved the lights with green beams outward and then worked in the center area to free another tan beamed light by moving it around within the circle of green beams. You'll have to bring some of the green outer lights inward again when you find a tan beam that needs to go outward. Just experiment by moving a light up-down-left-right and observe what happens. Keep moving the green beamed lights outward until you find a snag that requires you to bring a green one inward and a tan one outward.

Good grief, that explanation doesn't make much sense and I already know how to solve the puzzle. It's so much easier to show someone than to describe it. Good Luck!

Hi Sprinchicken, the puzzle is not random - keep looking around as there will be somthing else to do to give you a clue. Hopefully someone else will come along to help a little more!
