I'm always very glad to announce a new adventure game entirely made by my Italians countrymen,and I'm more glad today because the game's developer, Mad Orange, is a really talented artist, and a very funny guy.
Face Noir is a graphic adventure set in the New York of the '30s, in which the detective Jack del Nero will be caught up in a complicated intrigue.Here's the full story:


On the official site HERE you can see the first screenshots and listen to a very pleasant jazz soundtrack.
Face Noir – The cat with the jade eyes is planned to be released late 2009, but a teaser trailer will be available soon.
Most importantly , the game will be in english!

Very interesting and thank you for the information. I see they are using the Wintermute Engine but I didn't see if the game will be point & click, unless I missed it. Also was there a link to download the soundtrack? Must have missed that also.

Carla ~ thanks for bringing this announcement. "Face Noir" is going right on my BAAGS list. Love the location, the time-period, and the big-city detective theme, although I'd prefer 1st-person. Aren't some newer game developers putting 1st & 3rd as player options? But no matter, this looks like a game I'm going to love to play... hopefully, next year at this time.

Yes, it will be a "point and click adventure" I'm happy to be able to say as I read it twice in reading about the game and the developers at their official site.
Sounds like they are very enthusiastic about their "dream" to make an adventure game, but too many games start out very hopefully and end up who-knows-where, maybe they get finished several years later, but usually not in one year. I know that I have been waiting for several games for over a year now, plus waiting months for games on pre-order!
BTW, the story line is rather familiar to me and it would be to Dashiell Hammett too if he were still alive. Anybody care to guess the story and private eye I'm thinking about? It was also made into a movie with Humphrey Bogart!

And yes you are right, sierramindy, lots of games are announced and never reach the market, but I know that there is at least one italian company that will be very keen to publish this game...I think that's definitively going to happen.

You are right, Sam Spade is the private eye and The Maltese Falcon is the name. I purposely didn't mention the name because I couldn't remember it, I just knew it was something to do with a Falcon, but I kept thinking Black Falcon and that didn't seem right, so I tried Gold Falcon, and that wasn't any better. Of course, it was The Maltese Falcon, that was it exactly! Now I remember, thanks to you!
I do so hope that is does happen and that the game is made. They are moving in the right direction as far as a game that appeals to me, so I most certainly will be looking for it and hoping real hard that it does make it to the market place.

Reminds me of the old classic movies that Bogart did murder mysteries and intrige, I look forward to this game the graphics look great. Thanks for sharing another for the collection of games for me the list gets longer each day.

Obviously the game has not be released late 2009 as initially planned, but the project is still alive and kicking!

Looks like my kind of game.
Scheduled to be released late 2009? Also, one of the picture captions mentioned a location as Hoboken NY ...believe that is New Jersey.
I could be wrong as it is on the river ...but don't think the same city name would be in two different states right across from one and other. Just a thought if you know the developers.
