Jenny I think my computer specs should work with this game they are Microsoft windows home edition,Compaq Presario 061,System model dw256a-aba-sr1030n-na510,Processor AMD Athlon XP3000+ MMX 3Dnow,2.2Ghz. I still have 20.5 gb of space I also read the specs on the game and my comp. should handle it. But it just will not open up after I click on it to play. I also downloaded from the mirror on filefront usa is that the right place. Trisha

Unless you've upgraded, this is what they say is factory:
Name: S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR Chip type: S3 ProsavageDDR DAC Type: S3 SDAC Approx. Total Memory: 32.0
Doesn't look good, Trisha. But Jenny will know more about how to help you than me.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

If the PC in the link below is your specific model, it doesn't seem meet the suggested requirements to run the game. The requirements (at least those that I've seen) state 1GB of System Ram, and a GF 6800 class video card with 512MB of VRam. Compaq Presario SR1030NX Desktop PC The motherboard does have an available AGP 8x slot - so a new video card might be an option for you (you'd probably want to add an additional 512MB of System Ram as well).

It's hard to believe the game actually needs 512 MB of video RAM. I wonder if that's a mistake. Did they even make GeForce 6800 cards with that much video RAM? Maybe the "Ultra" version. Yes I own one (and it's not an Ultra) I agree it's a lot o' ram for an adventure game, but it was the only one I could find. I have upgraded my computer with more memory and a better video card I went and downloaded the demo from gamestop and it works fine. I think something was wrong with the download I had. Thank you all so much. Trisha Ah, good deal - what was the video card you upgraded to?

Gamersgate has the game for download and the system requirements they give are # Windows XP / Windows Vista # CPU 1,6 GHz # 512 MB RAM # 256 MB Graphics Card GeForce FX- Generation or ATI Radeon 9500 # 3 GB hard drive space # DirectX 9.0 compatible # DirectX 9.0 compatible Soundcard Those specs are certainly lower than what I saw before.

Acceleration is not something you change in the game options. Here are Inferno's instructions from her General Drill Start--> Run--> Type: DXDIAG--> up comes your DirectX Control Panel. Let it load and then select Sound. Move the slider as you wish to achieve the effect or correct the problems with your game. Of course always remember to Click Apply, Click OK as the case may be and restart your system. I'm not sure if restarting is necessary with XP, but it won't hurt.

While you're in DXDiag - save the content to your HD (press Save All Information). The default location is your desktop folder.
Open the resulting text file (notepad works well) and post the content in the Sound Devices section.
It'll look this:
