Peachis, if you'll send me your save (most recent where you are in the chair) I'll be happy to load it up, solve that puzzle, and then return it to you. I have done this for hundreds of other players of Myst IV, and using this method insures that your game progress remains intact.
Saves are in "My Documents\myst4-revelation savegames\" and look like this:
2008.06.27___21_44_26.m4s
Note the date in the filename. Use this (and perhaps the date/time stamp) to find the most recent save.
If you took a lot of photos in the game, these can get rather large (>10MB), so you may want to delete some photos and resave before sending. My email can be found by clicking on my avatar name on the left of this message (View Profile).
Cheers,
Dadguy

Peachis, The game folder may be in your program files but the saves are stored here "My Documents\myst4-revelation savegames\". Are you using Vista or XP?

Peachis, reiterating what TLC said, we know that the game program is under Program Files, but in Windows XP, the saves are in a directory under My Documents, as I noted in my post.
However, if you are running under VISTA, the saves are indeed under "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Myst IV - Revelation\save\"
But, there will be other saves that look like the one I posted about above, starting with "2008" and ending with ".m4s". The "default.m4s" file is only the data used for a new game and doesn't help us.
So, if you can tell us what your operating system is we might be able to help you find the save files.
Cheers,
Dadguy

Peachis, go into the game, open a save (tell me what you see when you click the "Load Game" button... are there saves listed? - What are the names of those saves?). If there are saves listed in the "Load Game" menu, then they will be in the Vista directory I noted above. It is possible, I suppose, that you never saved your games during the game.
If you have no save files, then I don't see how I can help you.
Please let us know what you find.
Best regards,
Dadguy

Peachis a very long time ago I sent Dadguy numerous Saved Games because of my computer problems with the game and he completed each one. He is the best! I'm now playing the game on my new Vista computer and so far all is well. Good Luck!

Hey Gerry! Thanks for the kind words.
Would you mind checking your Vista machine and confirm that you can see your saves under the Vista save directory:
"C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Myst IV - Revelation\save\"
I can see them on my Vista machine, but Peachis is evidently having trouble finding them.
Nice to hear from you!
Dadguy ok heres a screeny of what i have tell me what wrong and yes i have saved the game in my game ill send a screen shot of that also heres the files that i c FILES and heres where i saved my file Game screen ok so now where do i go from here what seems to be the problem u think maybe my other game might be conflicting with it myst uru im uninstaling it now to see if that helps besides the ending is bugged she never offers the book but ill replay it after i finish this game if i ever finish

Thanks, Peachis, for the reply. This is a great response and the best tool to help you (i.e., screenshots). It's a mystery, eh? There may be some differences on how Vista stores saves based upon security settings (you know... the Account Authorization stuff). So, maybe we can get to the bottom of this. Can I suggest you use the Search tool (in the upper right of the Windows Explorer window on Vista) and look for all files that have "2008" in them (search from the C: start location). Maybe this will show where the saves are on your PC, because from these screenies, it is clear they are not where mine are. See if you get a hit on the "2008.12.12(etc).m4s" file that is the save file we are looking for. Also, as an alternative, I would like to suggest you read some of the suggestions for solving this puzzle in the "Myst IV FAQs, that a number of us Gameboomers put together when Must IV came out. There are great hints on how to solve this challenging puzzle. http://www.gameboomers.com/wtcheats/pcMm/GBFaqMyst4.htmI look forward to hearing from you. Dadguy

Dadguy I am playing on Vista Ultima and I found my saved games by doing the following: 1. click on My Computer 2. click on Program Files 3.click on Ubisoft 3.click on "saved" The saved games are all listed there.
