Simon's back and facing what may be the ultimate challenge -- another Simon the Sorcerer. What is this "Fake Simon" up to? Do his polished manners disguise a heart of evil?

I'm totally with you on this review Becky smile
I loved the game and I too clicked on everything to hear the remarks from Simon.
Some didn't like the fact, that he is now an american, but I hardly noticed...

Wonderful ,Becky :bravo12:

The A- is a Great grade...This game is just too beautiful for words I think..

The interface & game play is similar to Ever light another goody..

Nice Becky - I probably would have avoided this but will add it to my ever increasing pile of "to play" games.

I would love to play this game, is there any possibility that the game will be released in NA any way soon?

Thanks for the review Becky. I've just had an e-mail from Amazon uk and could not belive the price. Knocked down from £24.99 to £6.45. This may be because their 2 customer reviews slammed the game. Why, because it's a different actor voiceing Simon. duh Nothing about if it's a good game to play and neither had finished the game when they posted their comments.
I shall buy it because I believe Becky will have given a fair review for the game and not just air her personal feelings :bravo12:

Thanks for the comments!

JennyP -- funny how that happens, isn't it? :grin12:

Lexxy -- I haven't heard anything at all about a North American release. :frown12:

Nice review, Becky! thumbsup I'm happy to read that the English version was also done quite well and hasn't lost its spirit through translation. You might be interested that Simon 5 is on its way in Germany. A March 2009 release was announced. So the story will continue. yes

Great review, Becky.

Finally a decent review of the game.

It is also good to see the StS series returning to its form, especially after StS3 that was an absolute disaster.

I can affirm this question. Reviews of all kinds of game mags ranged between 75% and 90%, the major print mags assigned ratings of 80% to 83%, while some adventure sites as our colleagues at Adventure-Treff gave only 78%. (b.t.w. our result was 85% :smile12:. But 2007 Simon had a lot of competitors here and so our Adventure of the Year 2007 Award went to Jack Keane).

But I think Simon4 was also a great success in terms of sales. It surely helped to market the game as the publisher at that time was the multimedia branch of a big European TV company and they placed a lot of prime time TV spots featuring the game. Never saw such TV spots for an adventure game before and after again at the big commercial TV stations (in length and kind comparable to actual Playstation or XBOX Christmas TV spots, could you imagine?).

On the other hand the licensing and delayed release in other countries had to do with that publisher. So let's see how long the next Simon title will take to show up outside Germany with Atari.

My brother and I liked Simon 3 -- except for the occasional crashes.

Wow! I just tried to order on Amazon.UK to see what would happen. I have a friend in Germany that I can use his address and have him mail the game to me and scared they accepted my US address and I have the game confirmed for 9.39 English pounds which I believe is between 13 or 14 US Dollars.

I've tried in the past with amazon.uk and it said they didn't deliver to the US so evidently they've changed.

So I'll be able to try the game for myself.

Great review Becky. I loved the first two Simon games so I am all over this once once it hits the states. Thanks for posting this.

Slydos -- thanks for the information! It sounds as though there was a huge difference between the marketing of the German version and the English version. I think the English game had been released already for a few weeks before any of us even realized it was out.

Oldman -- so Amazon UK is shipping the game to you in the U.S., or to your friend in Germany? If they are shipping directly to you, when you receive it, please let us know. I think others will want to try it if it works.

Space Quest Fan.
Thanks! As you can tell from the review, I didn't much like the first Simon. :lol12: So the review is from the viewpoint of someone who isn't already a fan. I'm not sure how much differently the game will play if you're a big Simon fan and have played the first games several times. I suspect you'll still enjoy it, but there will be differences (the American accent, for instance) that will require adjustment.

The American accent will require adjustment. Could you imagine Broken Sword 5 with George Stobbart's accent changed to a Scottish one? I loved the first few simon games, but am hesistant about this one.

Becky I have an email from Amazon.UK stating that they are shipping it to my USA address. The email even has my address with USA added. Surprised me too but it's like a gift (especially for that price). Will advise when I receive the game.

Oldman, please can you ask Amazon USA to return the favour & ship to the UK. They stock LOADS of things unavailable over here, especially DS games ..
Play.com is packing my Simon, should be with me by New Year, I had given up after the last awful one but this review has given me hope .

I too was suprised when I clicked on the game, after already having established an account previously, and they proceeded to process my order. My total incldding postage was 9.34 GBP which equals $13.68 USD. Just a side note at Amazon.uk has So Blonde for 27.98 GBP which equals $40.99 in USD if anyone is interested.

Let us know if you actually receive the items.
The ***Delivery Restriction page*** at Amazon.co.uk still lists Software, PC, and Video Games as being "restricted" to European countries.
