Playing old game (2004) Dark Shadows

I'm in the War Room (Opening) For the life of me I'm not able to talk to the soldier on the bed. If I cannot talk to him then the
the cutscene of an airplane does not crash-----------

Do you have the knife? Have you checked everything in the room? The game might not want your to move forward to a cutscene until you finish the room.

I checked for a patch to see if it helps and saw this installation patch.
I didn't use it but see if it is something that you might like to check.

Figured it out. You have to get right up to the soldier inorder
to talk to him.

I guess it only makes sense to look someone in the eye when talking to them.
