Ok i admit to being a syberia fan meaning this is my most fav game i own.And to prove im a fan.Ive bought every pc version of syberia i could own.Meaning i got the dvd box of both syberia games and the cardboard boxed versions.Anyway today to complete my collection ive recieved my collectors edition witch includes both games on 1 dvd.I forgot about this due to the fact i been ill over xmas period.Anyway imagine my dissapointment at the rubishy packaging for this item. The games brand new but comes in a cardboard sleeve with s**y card in the middle. My issue is having got several versions of the same game you d of thought they couldve come up with something a lot better than this....

Regards Mat

It is a bargain to be had at an average price of 10.00 for the two games. It was never meant to be like a Limited Edition or Colectors edition of RPG and other Darkside games that come in fancy packages with books and toys inside. Those cost 30-50 dollars more than the regular priced games.

For that price for two games, I'm not complaining. Will be a bonus if the packaging is a little more decent smile

Does anyone know if the package games will play on Vista without any problems?

The dual pack here in the UK costs (as per usual) TWICE as much as you lucky USA-ers have to pay ....

I agree. I felt the same way when I received mine. I don't think I've ever seen such cheap packaging: the game disc in a paper envelope along with a piece of thin corrugated cardboard stuck in a sleeve.

You can get other old games in a jewel case size for $10 and less, and they actually have a jewel case. Why did they cheap out so much on the Syberia pack?

I already have the games so haven't bought them in this particular packaging. What I do find is that if I buy the European/UK release of a game (usually from Play.com) it is usually in a neat 'DVD type' case although sometimes maybe in CD format. If I buy a US release (always from InteractCD) the discs are usually in paper sleeves & are enclosed in a box padded with thin corrugated cardboard - I've rarely recieved a game from the US in a jewel case. There are some exceptions e.g. the Nancy Drew games come in a DVD style case.

Isn't that the way that US releases are usually packaged? - I've never minded as up until recently the games are that much cheaper even taking into account shipping costs. smile

The Syberia pack is not in a box. It's in a thin sleeve about the size of a jewel case. I've bought many games from Interact, and I've never seen packaging like this before. It is the worst packaging I've ever seen.
What I have is from Amazon, not Interact. What Interact has pictured appears to be a sleeve over a jewel case, which is not what I received. I don't know if what Interact is selling is different packaging from Amazon.

Thanks for the description Jenny100, I can see now why no-one's impressed! - sounds a little bit like what you get when you make a mistake on E-bay & get something less than genuine! lol

I got both Syberia's when they came out,and paid the big bucks for them. Both are some of my favorite games. But since this thread is here, just thought I would add if you are a BFG member it is tomorrow's game and would only be as little as $6.99. It's a 1.02 Gig download, so dial-up probably won't work.

ooopss, sorry Ana, saw that you already had a separate thread a couple down from this one. Sorry didn't mean to hijack this thread oops

Mat, not everyone can afford, or lives in an area where broadband, is available. We have many fine members on dialup here.

My DVD of both the "Syberia games for XP" has just arrived and it IS in the desultory packaging being discussed in this thread - but there is a note to say it has been packed that way to "help save the planet's resources" grin

Thanks Ana for putting Mat in his place on the dial up issue. I have dial up because it is what is available in my area. It's a bit slow at times but I am just grateful to have it.
