Is there a demo for this game? I didn't see any sign of it at the official website.

Thanks much for the in-depth review. I do like interactive games, but I have never tried one with live actors. I hope that "Kidnapped" will run on VISTA.

haha. worked fine on my vista, unlike SOME THINGS. sigh. good game. strange, but quite refreshing. nice review flotsam. very thoughtful. and like you say, it's a 'hard game to rate' because it's quite different. but I liked it!

Yeah, thanks flotsam, you were right, the story carries it through those times when the gameplay is easier. It's not really an adventure game, is it? Like you said, it's a strange new kind of casual game ... slash TV series ...

Hi smihly and welcome to GameBoomers! welcome

The consensus so far between those who play both casual and adventure games is that Casebook is more adventure than casual. We are seeing some interesting cases of genre fusion lately.

The game looks very interesting, and I think Det. lol Burton is hot. Does anyone know if Big Fish has it? think

Thankks Becky!

I think you're probably right, it is more adventure than casual - it's got more too it than a casual game, and the scale of it is more ambitious - it's a development on Mystery Casefiles, even if it isn't quite so ... glitzy.

I downloaded it from the game's own site, by the way, because I couldn't figure out if the one on BFG was safe - I found it by googling 'casebook the game'.

I'm interested in hearing about other good fusion games, too ...

Smihly -- some recent casual games with adventure-like elements are: Nancy Drew Dossier Lights, Camera, Curses, Agatha Christie Death on the Nile and Sherlock Holmes: The Mystery of the Persian Carpet. I'm sure there are others too. (I'm basing this on descriptions of the games -- I haven't played any of these yet.)

Thanks for that Becky. I'll check some of those out - I wanted to playe a demo of Nancy drew but there isn't one on BFG. I really enojoyed Nancy Drew and Moondog Lake (is that the name?).

And hey Tigre! I love BFG - they're fantastic! smile but there was a bit of an issue with casebook before christmas ... And someone told me i could get it from the maker's website, which i did, and it ran fine ... BFG are great, though, they are really responsive and helpful. Love them.
