Yes that is tapestry - source of light. When he looks at it he will say Fiat Lux which means Let there be light. Be sure you also read the books taken from Jonathan's coffin.

For some reason I can't combine the arrow amd mandolin string to get a crossbow. I am this far and can't wait to finish...too many puzzles but good story line.

Hi jorja, there are two steps to this. First pick up and click the arrow on the mandolin leaning against the bed - that gives you the mandolin string. Then in your inventory, combine the mandolin string with the crossbow to get a complete crossbow. luck

All well and good if I had a crossbow. (I haven't)

Hi gillivt,

I've read back through the thread to your original post. This sounds like a glitch in your game, if you are unable to see any characters or animals at all. I'd suggest posting the problems you are experiencing over in our Glitches forum, along with your PC specs, and the experts there should be able to help you.

luck

The clue is not visible very well. Only after you made it clearly visible, Van Helsing makes a note in the report section and then you can get a close up of the lock.

Just started playing Dracula O today, I am stuck at the book under Dracs picture. I tried the examples in the walkthrough, mine was not exactly the same but I got to the placement of the Jewels and I followed the walkthrough and it didn't open so I tried them in diferent places and it still won't open. Anybody got a save after this part please, so I can move on.

I am playing on my old xp computer, kinda given up on playing anything but the small games on my laptop, Vista takes a lot to run. I am running with just a minimal Radeon Express graphic card and it seems fine.

Do you have the text in the book also; as well as the correct placement of symbols?
There's a solution in the walkthrough.

I have it in the inventory, I thought I had the first two parts right, symbols and text in each section, but I'll check I didn't miss anything, thanks MaG
Sorry, I tried to take it out but it won't let me. Ishould have edited the first one

Jorja,

I'd suggest posting over in our Glitches forum for advice.

Also, if you need hints help, please post either in an existing Last Half of Darkness game thread, or create a new one. Mixing different games on one thread, as in this case with Dracula Origin, is too confusing. thanks
