Hi Ruthie, when I first got it, it was played for an hour and shelved; took a lot of effort and time to go back to it again, but I never regretted it after persevering ...it grows on you like a rash and grabs you so that you have to finish it!

Ruthie, I'm on your side. I liked the game, but Nigel's concrete-block personality and his stoic presence was a bit disturbing at times. I would have have liked it more if he had reacted to SOMETHING with a bit more than a grunt. If nothing else, didn't he ever notice that the moon was bigger and more beautiful than he'd ever seen it?
If all the people were heroes, there would be no one to watch the parades.

I also loved the game immensely... I really pay no attention to stiff walkers, or bad voice acting or lip syncing .... With me its graphics, story, & interface My opinion

I've finished the game and enjoyed it very much. As a matter of fact I started playing Still Life right after completing it and just couldn't get into it.
So as a result, I've started replaying Lost Crown to see if I can figure out some of the mysteries the game presents you when it's completed. I don't play that many AG's because frankly they all seem pretty much the same to me. Usually a weak story with a bunch of puzzles thrown in to extend gameplay, but this one actually had me still thinking about it a week after completing it, hence my reason for restarting it.
And frankly this has never happened to me before with an AG, or any genre for that matter with the possible exception of Deus Ex or System Shock 2. So no, despite some slow early going and more questions than answers at the end I found it to be a thought provoking near masterpiece.

I'm with you olgezzer, I played this game when it first came out and loved it.I then played again to see if I could unravel what I had missed. After 9 months and reading the very long thread here on GB with so many ideas on the game I am playing it for the third time. It's like good wine and gets better as it gets older. I cannot get over the wonderful use of colour to set the mood of each section of the game. If Nigel is slow then double click, that gets him moving but surely the whole point of the game is not to rush, you will miss many clues if you rush. Drink in the ambiance, listen to the noise of the birds singing and the trees creaking and swaying. To go back to the wine- sip slowly to get the best from this game. Take the time as The LOst Crown deserves it.

Ruthie,
I agree. Tedious would be my word for it, too. I am on Day Three and will probably keep plodding away at it but I am disappointed in the game as a whole. I know that most people like the black and white, but I don't. I keep thinking, as I am playing, how much more I would like it in color. For me, the colors all blend together and I have some trouble seeing things that I am supposed to look at. I have some vision issues, so it is probably just me, but nevertheless, I don't really like it.
Nigel IS wooden and the inflection in his voice is starting to get on my nerves. I like the story but it does seem to be taking a long time to get into it. This is supposed to be a long game, so I will try to stick it out.
