Hi everyone,

maybe someone can help me. I've started to play Post Mortem and so far, I think I'm making good progress. Now I'm stuck. I cannot get into the hotel room where the murder happened. I have the lockpicks, the big suitcase is still in the hall but Gus won't enter it and keeps saying that he doesn't know which floor the room is on. I've talked to the concierge who refuses to give me further information (I picked the insurance agent option and picked all dialogue options that lead nowhere). I've drawn the suspect's picture and showed it to Malet and the police, I got Hellouin's address and could enter his office using the lockpicks. But I think I'll need them to get into the hotel room - I've played the game a while ago and know I used them on the lock in the hotel. Also, I know I've used the suitcase to get upstairs. I can't remember how I did it. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jehane

Hi Jehane,

It is best that you exhaust all dialogue with Mrs. Loseau first. Then try to enter that room. This also depends on what path you are taking - as journalist, PI or Insurance agent.

Thanks MaG, I've solved the problem - it was so obvious I didn't see it at first *g* I just had to walk around the suitcase on the right-hand side and try to walk up the stairs; Gus said he couldn't do that because the concierge would see him. After that, he got into the suitcase and upstairs, I could finally talk to the psychic and enter the crime scene. Now I'm playing as Hellouin and am eager to see how the story develops - I've played as far as the puzzle in the library, I think, when I first played the game but could never finish it due to a nasty bug smile

I'm glad you got through after I missed your post about the suitcase. I thought you were already upstairs.

I think I misphrased my initial posting a bit - the problem was that Gus wouldn't crawl into the suitcase smile Just finished the game; the last puzzle (the picture with the lit candle) was a bit nasty but overall, the puzzles weren't that difficult - except maybe for the lockpicking smile
