The European publisher has become insolvent Really? That's terrible news. They were one of my favourite publishers as they had all the brilliant adventure games. Rhiannon, The Lost Crown, Overclocked, Barrow Hill, Darkness Within...
I'll be back, one day, when I feel like it.

Just to clarify to all. GotGame is not the publisher in question, they are doing fine. noel, Yes, EB is Electronic Boutique. So sorry to hear about the other Publisher. I do hope you are able to find another means to get the game out in Europe. Ana

edit:
I want to thank Noel from Arbeth Studios to come to this site and clear this up for us...
original post:
Isn't EB games called Gamestop now? At least the EB game store near me changed its name to Gamestop a maybe 6-7 months ago? It may be different in the US, I think.
Is the European publisher Lighthouse Interactive?
The publisher for US/CAN is still Got Gome Entertainment?
I would also hope that arbethstudios find another publisher soon...

dianne, no worries. You didn't upset anyone, and it's good that Noel is made aware that they may have false info and can do something about it. Ana

Hi Dianne You didn't upset anyone. I was just curious... It is not that uncommon for a game to be published by one publisher in Europe and then by another publisher in the US. And yes, it is good that Noel is made aware of this; means that he can do something about it - like Browneyed says...

Wow Lighthouse Interactive closed their doors? They showed so much promise for us adventure game addicts. Isn't Lighthouse the Publisher for Dead Mountaineers Hotel? I wonder if this means the Hotel is really dead now for an English release?

Those are my questions and concerns too, GreyFuss. But I haven't heard anything through official channels yet, so let's hope it's all a misunderstanding. Nothing in the Dutch news, nothing on the LI boards.
I'll be back, one day, when I feel like it.

Hi Pollo
I would hope that too Pollo but it doesn't look good when every link I had and can find turns up nothing for Lighthouse Interactive. Too bad.

PRESS RELEASE Arberth Branches Out With Gamersgate
Welsh developer Arberth Studios has joined with games portal Gamersgate to offer the English-language version of its supernatural adventure 'Rhiannon: Curse of the Four Branches' for download. The non-exclusive deal covers all publishing territories of the world.
Arberth's co-founder Noel Bruton comments "We're very excited about this opportunity. It means that 'Rhiannon' is now available anywhere with a good Internet link, which opens it up even to territories where we don't yet have direct publishing arrangements. It can put 'Rhiannon' in the hands of more players, which is why we wrote it - to get it played. It's a great alternative route to market for the smaller independents like ourselves."
However, it is not just the increased and immediate product distribution that drew Arberth to Gamersgate, but the flexibility and quality of the facility. Bruton continues, "Gamersgate's online inventory monitoring service allows us to track and manage sales almost in real time, which is a far cry from the comparatively primitive, after-the-fact periodic sales reports from some more conventional publishers. We see offerings like Gamersgate as a key part of the future of access to adventure videogames."
I'll be back, one day, when I feel like it.
