I downloaded the trial but couldn't play. The error note said something about invalid buffer or xml. I sent an e-mail to BFG. frown

I've had that game for quite some time. Got it from Gamecentre, so I'll pass on this one.

This is an old game being shown as new. This was out last year.

Idon't want to be selfish but I'm glad I'm not alone and it's not my laptop. I noticed that the in game resolution was very low and the game screen came up like a small window.

This game is new to me and plays perfectly on my computer with Vista. The graphics are beautiful and it looks like a keeper.

I like the music and sound too. I only played a few minutes and wanted to get back and tell you all. It is definitely worth trying the demo.

If it was out last year, this is the first I've played it or heard of it. It also has a relaxed mode.

Thank you Big Fish! Thanks for giving me a game to fill my long weekend! I hate having a long weekend without a good game to play.

Also. I believe the game is new, new to Big Fish. I buy very very few at $20/ so will gladly wait a few months to get it for $6.99, so I don't mind if it isn't brand new. laugh

I'm surprised BFG has this one. I recently purchased it from BestBuy 'cause RealArcade name is on the box, so I figured BFG wouldn't get it. oh, well........ woozy

I bought mine on eBay several months ago. This is great for Big Fish, and I believe there is supposed to be a sequel pretty soon. smile

LOL, maybe that's why it took longer to get on BFG. Maybe thing are settling between them. That would be nice for everyone.

It was not tauted as being New as in a "just released" it is New at BigFish. The majority of us prefer waiting for games to get to BigFish.

I have noticed some Real based games showing up lately, it would be great to see more.

Cate West is a great game and it should not run in a small window unless you have windowed mode checked. Check Full Screen and it should be fine.

I bought the game and am enjoying it. It is so much fun to pick out the criminal by deduction of the clues. They get harder as the game goes on as does the object finding. However, nothing is hidden in dark areas, nor are they miniscule... the hidden object part reminds me a lot of Return to Ravenhearst's hidden objects. The items are obvious but so well hidden within the picture it is a challenge but not impossible. As far as I can see the hints are endless... I usually need one if any per scene and so far one has always been available.

The mini games are mostly find the differences.... they also have mini games like in Madam Fate where you have to find 10 feathers or axes, etc. There is also a mini game where you have two identical pictures and you have to put the evidence back. Fun game. I love it. I'm enjoying the story too.

I'm playing this game on the Nintendo DS. I guess it is the same either way?

They are generally the same story but I would have to assume that the PC Version would have more things to do in it.

I've also played this game on the DS, and it does seem to be a pretty complete HOG with all the mini-puzzles, but they made no attempt to tailor the objects for the small DS screen and it's very hard to find them.

I would suspect the PC version is a lot easier on the eyes. Overall, it's a good game, with an involving plot.

Has anyone picked out the right suspect on the first attempt? I haven't yet. In fact, it took me 6 attempts with the 3rd case file. Cate said the suspect was in their 30s yet the 'right' one was in his 20s. Her clues don't seem to 'match' the right suspect the way I would expect them to. Anyone else notice this?? :winter:

I picked the right suspect a few times. I hadn't noticed any clues that were outright wrong, but I did notice that many of them were ambiguous (which was deliberate, no doubt).
