After completing "Lost Crown", I was pumped to begin "Rhiannon". I'm in Chapter 2 and have already used Hints and walkthroughs more than I ever have on any other game. This game is just not very intuitive. For instance, how was I supposed to know to gather all those twigs? If anyone can suggest a way to better enjoy this game, I'm listening. Right now I'm regretting the money I spent.

Hi Sparkle,

I actually found the game logical and clues are there to be checked.

Like the twigs - I found the tree book at the living room book case and the tree book at Rhiannon's window sill. There was an emphasis on trees.
Then when I went out to roam outside, I saw twigs - so I picked them up and correlate with the books.
Then I realized more the importance of symbolic objects by reading those books and it went from there.

I'm sorry that you're not enjoying the game. Maybe you can enjoy the storyline.

I too thoroughly enjoyed Rhiannon. In fact, Rhiannon and The Lost Crown were the 2 best new released adventure games I played in 2008 and except for a few, I played them all. I agree with MaG that the game was very logical and the clues are there so there is not a need for help. This game was well worth the money and can't wait for the developers next game.

Know what you mean!! It's not my kind of game either. This is one of those games that just somehow doesn't make sense to me in how it's played. I just took the easy way and played almost totally from a WT in order to enjoy it at all.

I've never been able to analyze exactly why I like some games and not others. I've played some seemingly pretty difficult games without a WT or with only one or two clues (mostly because I couldn't find a pixel oriented something).

I played my first game not even knowing there were WTs, for example, MYST. Later there was Blackstone Chronicles, Amerzone, MYST-Exile, Syberia, Syberia II, and others for which I required little or no help.

Then, other games that some had no problem with, such as this RHIANNON and the RHEM games just were not "my thing". Played them with much help and was able to enjoy them that way. Maybe I'm just too old for some of this stuff. laugh

I didn't do it......and if I did I'm not guilty!

duh For me this was one of those "OK" games. I didn't hate it, but it didn't make my 'keeper' shelf. I often felt the need (Especially with all those twigs) to finally get rid of my perfectly good, but small, 15" monitor. I think that a bigger screen might have made the game a bit more effective and enjoyable, as I could have more readily identified the various branches and other details.

I liked it at first, but it became repetitive as it went on. I was ready for it to be over. I started using the walkthrough toward the end just to finish sooner.

I didn't hate the game...It was more dislike for the interface..

I got lost so many times...It took me half an hour to find the front door smirk

I found that I was totally lost for at least the first half of the game & then it started to all fall into place. I did need to refer to the walkthrough quite a lot but less so as I progressed. It was a game well worth playing & I'm keen to play again to fill in 'the gaps in my head'!. I think the difficulty I found in playing this is that I'm more used to being 'led' in games, including The Lost Crown, rather than looking for & correlating the clues around to deduce what to do! - I need more practise! smile

I absolutely loved the game as well as the Lost Crown, my kind of games. A lot of people don't like too much reading in adventure games and looking for a lot of items, with me as long as the story keep me interested I'll do whatever it takes.

I'm looking forward to more of these types of games from the developers in the future. bravo

I liked the game, surprisingly it kept my interest. I must confess I was ready to give up in the beginning with all those **********doors, but I stuck with it and finished it. After the so called games labelled "adventure" from last year, it lived up to its name. It was adventure, loved the Lost crown too. Hope some developers can figure out what ADVENTURE means and get the right name on the right game soon.

I liked the game and found that I could follow the logic and work out most of the clues bar one where I had to use the walkthrough but this was due to not finding a hot spot rather than not knowing what I was looking for.

BUT In common with some others for me the thing that let the game down and this applies to all games of this type is where you can see where you want to go but can not easily get their.

I don't know the answer the graphics were superb but the navigation was enough that the game did not "grab me".

I don't know if I am going off adventure games (or just getting old)but I have been playing them since pre PC days and I used to play late into the night wanting to see what happens next. It has been a long time since I have played a game like that.

Same with me Darleen3. Actually, I am about ready to give up on the game. I am on day 2, and I find all the wandering around becoming quite tedious.

Frankly, I got bored with all that wandering around. Usually I play as "non-stop" as possible. I found that days passed before I got back to it. Not my bag. Teddo

I thought it and Outcry were spectacular. And I usually prefer dialogue heavy third person games.

Thanks to all for your comments. It's good to know that others are having some of the same problems. And also that there are those who found enjoyment in the game. I too am having trouble finding my way back to the front door of the house. It's a bit of a help to have a copy of the "Site Plan" from the walkthrough. I guess I'll just have to resign myself to getting help from Hints and walkthroughs unless or until the playing strategy clicks. Thanks again, all. - Sparkle

I liked the game a lot. Yes, you went back and forth a bit, but in most games you do and the scenery and ambience made it enjoyable. Once you got the hang of the first puzzle the others were kind of repetetive in that, they were the same type of puzzles, but were still different enough for my interests.

I didn't need a walkthrough at all. One clue went right over my head but I solved the puzzle by process of elimination. (I always read the walkthroughs after I finish a game to see if there might have been something I missed or to make sense of something I didn't understand, and doing that I saw the clue that I had missed.) With others puzzles, the answers clicked after fooling around with them for a bit. All the clues were there.

I'm looking forward to their next game.
