I'm in the Alchemists bedroom with the automated librarian. I click on the machinery to get to the puzzle and get the, "I don't see the point" response.

I have already spoken with the alchemist and cant again right now.

Have I missed something? I have the electric fish, etc.

thanks

Hi digitopolis,

I haven't played this game, but looking at the walkthrough: Did you see the tattoo on the body, and have you picked up the medallion yet? When you spoke to Tirell did he mention these, and that you need to read The Fall of Darkness book?

Have you checked against the walkthrough HERE to see what you might have missed?

Let us know how you get on.

Hi,
I have checked through the walkthrough and compared against the notebook and inventory in the game. I find no mention of the tattoo or medallion in the game notebook. If it is a missed dialogue option with the Tirrel character I have lost the option of speaking with him until I have the book. It seems he is locked in his laboratory until the book is acquired and read.

I hope I have missed something that that can be backtracked, otherwise I will be very sad and need to start the game over from the beginning. The game seems to allow for only the most recent manual and automatic saves.

Any suggestions welcome.

Ah - that is why the dialogue with the alchemist is not triggered.
You have to see those to discuss it with him first.

From the walkthrough:
Shore: Jump to shore using the map. Go forward and have a talk with Mr. Hooke.

Body - Look at the body and see the tattoo of a boar on his hands.
Move to the side of the body and look again to see that he was stabbed in the heart. Use the hand icon to get a medallion.

Go back - no need for a saved game replay - to the Shore. Do the above and then continue with the dialogue with the alchemist. luck

I found the trigger for the tattoo back in town which in turn triggered the discussion which in turn has triggered a sense of well being and renewed enjoyment of the game.

thank you much.
