Attractive female detective seeks tall, dark missing stranger, last seen in the vicinity of Oz. Info leading to this person's discovery will be rewarded by inventory acquisitions, magical knowledge, and "Quest Completed" jewels. Avoid official channels. Beware the lion. Emerald City Confidential

Great review Becky. I am about half way through and I have found no glitches. The humor is subtle but funny...especially the Scarecrow!

I was ready to download the game at Playfirst and saw the back up cd caption for $7.95. Am I correct in asuming that I download the game and then recieve a CD copy of the same game? The total of the game would be $27.95, which is not bad,but I do not see why they just can't send me the CD copy w/o the download. I may not be making too much sense so anyone who understands the reasoning please feel free to jump in and clarify.... .I am so confused.

You do not have to download and can wait for the CD backup if you like. The price is still going to be 27.95. It's not going to be a boxed retail version, it's just a simple backup on a CD. The 19.99 is the cost of the game so you will pay that regardless. They do that on most of the portals including BigFish. It is great for those that have dialup. Ana

I think that the option of sending a back up disk later is a good one. Even though the same activation restrictions will apply, at least you have a copy of the game to hand that won't "disappear" if you have computer problems I am, though, with the side that feels downloads should be slightly less expensive than "boxed with manual" retail versions.

Thanks for the clearification, I thought I was misreding it for a moment. I guess I will go ahead and download it because it seems like a keeper to me and the backup cd will probably come in handy with all of the problems I have been having of late with my computer. After having decided to pay $40 for Ceville this game seems like a real bargin.

Since I gave a sneak peek last week... Here are some great titles releasing this week.
Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened - Great large file adventure game later this week. Emerald City Confidential - Good solid HO Adventure, not technically this week, launches next Monday the 23rd. The 23rd is a date fixed by the developer, otherwise we would give it to you this week!
There are a few other titles this week I have not played, so if I like them I will add them to this thread.
Emerald City will be coming to BigFish Games on the 23rd. Ana
