I need to type Nigel's memoirs but cannot do the typing test to get the note and Corbin's coat of arms. I took it earlier in the game. What can I do? oops

You should be able to retake the typing test - I remember playing it more than once at different points during the game. What happens when you click on the test? Have you tried speaking to Nigel again? think

Rushes,

I could access the typewriter as Nigel was typing. I do Have a solution. Is there a specific area to post hints? My apologies for being outside the guidelines--I'm new to BC and have not done this before. thanks

Puzzler,

I might be misunderstanding. This is the Hints forum and you can also post hints-help here aside from asking for help.
Any member can help another member or post hints on their own thread.

You're not misunderstanding. I just needed to make sure I could post a hint here. BTW, triangles. I'm confused...Secret passage by LuLu is East and the secret passage in the hall by the gargoyle is West? Without my GPS, I'm totally lost. I have all triangles in East facing upright. I can get all but 1 triangle facing up in the West. Please help. Thanks in advance.

That's right - the passage by Lulu is East, and the other passage is West. You might want to double check that all your triangles in East passageway are upright, then go back and tinker some more with the triangles in West. Once those are done, go back to East and redo those triangles. luck

Rushes, You are the best! thumbsup Got the triangles and did the alchemy. I'm stuck on the Wind Puzzle and hope you can help. I think I captured 1 wind and I think I heard a chuckle. I thought I captured another wind but all I got was groaning and had to start all over again. Any suggestions? thanks

You have 4 winds N E S W. Across the E wind is a big place. Try not get blown over there - it is difficult to get out.
So try to catch the E wind first.

You want to position the wind so that you can jump on top of them.
You do not want to be trapped on those black squares bec the game ends.

The tactic depends on the wind you are trying to catch: if E or W - they only blow on the sides left or right - so approach them from the top-bottom.
The reverse is true for the N or S wind, approach them from left-right since they blow only top-bottom.

Keep moving until the target wind is within 1 or 2 non-black square - then land on that target wind.

thanksMaG. I'll try that strategy. When one of the winds was captured it, chuckles and when I caught one of the remaining 2 winds, it said no and had to start over again. Perhaps I am being pushed onto one of the black pits and didn't know it.

I think you can save during the puzzle so that you don't need to replay from start. I might be wrong but try anyways and see.

Thanks for the encouragement. I've got the pond filled with water, the key from the frog, talked to Mrs. Drake about the charm on Linda's door, and just finished playing Betty's game and won twice but nothing happens. Is there something to win or am I missing something? headscratch

Did you give Betty the correct code so that she places the arrowhead as a wager? Remember what Brigitte wrote. luck

Hmmm? I clicked on: Melponeme, Erato, Terpischore, Euterpe and Thalia. After each one I pressed the red button. Then had to press the red button again to get Betty to play. Went back to the room and checked the mural and did not see any numbers. Tried playing again, clicked on the above order and then pressed the red button, nothing happened, pressed the red button again and Betty dealt the cards. I still cannot click on certain cards. Is this a glitch?

Press the red button after you have selected all five muses first. She should then use the arrowhead as her wager. See if that works for you.

I will try again. I'm going back to the rooms to make sure I clicked on all books/papers. Will let you know. Thank you.

Well, I went back thru all the rooms, spoke with everyone including LuLu for hints and Hugh. I looked through all books in Jane's rooms and ND's. Reset the alarm and got the red eyes and saw the lady in black--Linda won't talk. I went through the motion of opening the puzzle box on the chair and then went to the window seat. ND made a comment "something goes in there" (I already have the lens). I opened the window seat, heard the drawer open, back up and the notebook became highlighted (notify me the lens was there). I took the lens and looked through the telescope and nothing. No red curtain, no numbers. BTW, I can't check off about the lens in ND's notebook. Is there anything else to do or is there a glitch? help

Remember the clues in the book at the lab: Brigitte's box that contains a telescope lens can be opened by using the clues of her coat of arms and star charts. Use the lens to see 5 muses. Select each muse in order and Betty will wager Penny's keys. The lens also shows a secret panel in the moon column.

I remember being held up her because I didn't check all the star charts and click on appropriate things there. luck

MaG--If you mean the puzzle box on the chair in ND's room with the animals on it, I did it and have the lens. Are you saying there is another lens? confused

There's star chart on the wall beside the window. See if flipping on that and clciking ona ctive spots help.
Also double check UHS Hints might verify if you did all that is necessary. luck

No - there's only one lens taken from constellation box and used on the music box and telescope to look at wall.

Also I sent you several saved games - each at different part of the game. See if you can find the difference between your game and mine. luck

I've don't remember seeing a music box. Is it in ND's room? I've done all that you suggested but will try it again. I did receive your email. It went into the junk folder and added you to my safe list. Thank you so much. wave

My apologies, my mind was already on another game. The moon puzzle I mean. Glad you got the saves - hope they show what is missing.
