I need recommendations for a cooling pad, I am planning to buy a notebook for gaming in an area that doesn't have internet. Maybe I will even finish my games without the distractions online.
What kind of magic spell to use?

How big is the laptop? What's your price range? The most powerful cooler is probably the ***NZXT*** for around $70. It also comes in ***black***. These are for 17" laptops. They are for heavy duty cooling with their large fans and are quiet. ***Zalman coolers*** are also good, come for 15" and 17" laptops, and come in black or silver. There are certainly less expensive coolers. The main thing is to make sure you get a cooler that is blowing the same direction as your laptop fans. In other words, if your laptop blows air downwards, you don't want a cooler that is blowing air upwards, and vice versa.

Jenny100 since I don't have it yet I don't know which way the fans blow, maybe I will wait til it comes. Here it is though. Asus laptop Geo, those cooler balls sound good to me, I will have to do a search for them. I don't like the idea of having to carry a lot of stuff around or using too much power off the laptop either. Aside from being in a no internet area in our "cabin" we are also off the grid and will have solar for electricity with a backup generator.

Thanks for the headsup on the gel stuff, the bad stuff I heard about some coolers is that the fans go bad, from the weight of the laptop maybe? I found this one that is off the desk but probably wouldn't be as good on the lap. transparent cooler

The transparent one looks good... But I'm just sort of grooving on the whole idea of the wine bottle corks. I mean, "...gee, my laptop needs a little space to stay cool. Darn the luck, I'm going to have to open up that other bottle of wine to get enough corks." Sounds like the perfect relationship to me!

I knew, Drac, that you especially would appreciate the wine bottle cork solution. Bernard...That wine cooler comment was priceless! I think I will refer to my little invention as such! Cheers!

Does my Pinot Grigio I'm drinking as we speak count? I'll bring some nice slices of smoked white cheddar cheese to nibble on.... Oh, dear. I belive we've devolved in food and drink silliness in the Technical section! Jenny100 will have to come and set us back on the proper path ...
