I have been trying to escape from Hagatha's cave and I get caught every time. Does anyone have a save for after escaping the cave?
I've been trying for 3 days, off and on and am very discouraged.

I haven't played this game and don't have any saves.

Did you try this from Len Green's walkthrough:

Quickly walk to cloak & obtain tiny silver key & golden ring shaped device.
Quickly go to cage & cover it with cloth (soiled handkerchief) to stop nightingale from chirping.
Quickly unlock padlock to release chain, & very quickly take cage, dash to the cloak (away from Hagatha) & exit cave.

That's a lot of "quickly"s!

If that doesn't get you through we'll have to wait and see if someone has a save to rescue you.

Thanks, but I finally escaped with the bird. that Hagatha is a nasty one. I sure got cooked a bunch of times before I escaped. Now, if anyone needs a save I have one.

Great that you got through.

Now I am really stuck in the swamp trying to get to the castle. No matter how carefully I try to follow the directions on the poem from the bible, I can't find the castle. Any hints are appreciated.

Use only the first letters of the poem for the directions to the castle or the capitalized letter on the page. SENW. These letters are random, so we can't find a step by step.

That is just what I am doing, but it doesn't work. I'll keep trying again and again. If I ever get to the castle, I will definitely SAVE!!!!!

I just checked it - it's the same as what you know already.

I sure don't know what is wrong. the poem shows SSWWSSEWW. That E near the end just doesn't compute. I even tried repeating the sequence, but I usually get gassed or whatever.

What happens if you skip that E?

I tried it and that still doesn't work. I just don'e dnow what else to try. Any other suggestions. I even tried going back a save or two to see if there was anything else I missed. No luck

There's a patch here. But it will make you saved games not usable anymore and I'm not sure if your problem is a glitch.

I don't know what to tell you. I can't find saved games either.
Ah - maybe replay before getting the poem and see if it will give you a different set of directions that might work better.

I already tried that and tried it again and got the same poem and tried it again. No luck. I think I will try your patch just to see what happens. I can't lose anything by trying.

I didn't try the patch. I think I will just delete all my saves and start a new game. I'll see if I do any better that way.

One final question. How do I find the save game file on my computer. I know I can delete them from the game file saves, but I would like to really delete them completely from the computer. Never mind, I found them.
