Yoomurjak's Ring, a full motion video game set in Hungary -- created by the makers of the AGON series -- is now available for download at The Adventure Shop! The game follows the exploits of Jonathan Hunt, the great-grandson of Samuel Hunt, the intrepid professor in the AGON games. Some of you may recall that there was a serious debate here at GameBoomers as to whether the game ought to be released with the Hungarian voiceovers and English subtitles or whether it should be dubbed in English, with or without lip synching. We are now about to discover how the developers decided this controversial issue. To find out more about Yoomurjak's Ring, visit the game's website here. Or read the GameBoomers' First Look at Yoomurjak's Ring here.To purchase the game, click on The Adventure Shop mini-banner near the top of this page, and type Yoomurjak into the search engine.

And yet again I have to wait until it is released/distributed on CD/DVD! I have waited and drooled over this game since its demo and now I have to wait some more. Not a happy gamer - I do not like download only game releases....phooey Love, Betty Lou

I don't like to read sub titles in english with a foreign language speaking. I would rather see bad voice dubbing then hear a foreign language I can't understand. Just my opinion, looks like a good game but I won't be buying it because of this.

After all these years and still no English language voiceover! When you consider that we are talking about the U.S., Canada, The U.K., Australia, New Zealand, and India, that is a lot of people. Not smart. I will pass.

Chrissie -- the game has been retranslated, so the demo that reflects this is not ready yet. Hopefully it will be on the game's website at some point in the near future. I played the preview version with English subtitles and Hungarian voices and enjoyed it very much. It is my impression that it is especially difficult to dub a full-motion-video game because there are many close-ups on the faces when the actors are talking, so even if the voices are dubbed, the lip synch is always off. Then some gamers complain that they would rather have subtitles only because the dubbed lip synch issue is so annoying! Short of refilming the game with English actors, it's very difficult to solve every problem.

Is the computer you want to play on connected via network to your internet computer? I download everything off the net to a shared network drive so I can install and play on any computer in my house. I know that works for the Adventure Shop games. Ana

Thanks for the info Becky. I don't mind any foreign language game, as long as there's also an English accompaniment so that I can understand the gist of the plot. I always have the option to turn off the sound or subtitles.

Is the computer you want to play on connected via network to your internet computer? Not usually, but that isn't the problem. There is no way I could download 4.8 GB of data without my ISP connection stalling out first. The most I've been able to download at once is around 300 MB, and that took two tries. Some days I've had downloads for casual games stall out at less than 100 MB. In order to get Yoomurjak's Ring, I'd have to use someone else's internet connection to download the installer file(s), then copy those file(s) to a DVDR or flash drive and transfer them to my computer. Is this possible? or does AdventureShop keep track of what ISP you bought and downloaded the game from, and only allow activations from that ISP?
