Anyone played this game? - is there a walkthrough somewhere? I started the game after supper and I'm already lost.

RAL, if you press "I", it seems that you will get the hot spots in the game. Maybe that can be of help. Chief

The "I" key is of a great help. I still haven't found the hairbrush. Nor the container with the ashes. When will I know if I've found all the food in the basement? I hope the note book will let me know. EDIT - found the hairbrush Still, after many hours of looking, I can't find Marcus's urn. RAL

Hi RAL -- I found the urn by taking one tiny step forward from the first position you are in when you find yourself in the basement, and then panning the camera slowly over the rolled up rug on the right. There's a hotspot there that allows you to move the rug to find the urn behind it.

Thanks Becky I found the urn and got the bone. Now I have another problem. I found a candelabra at the same time. I have to dust it for fingerprints. I've dusted every part of it and the blue bar at the bottom of the screen stops advancing. What can I do to make it advance to the end (it's almost at the end) so that I can get the fingerprint. Okay I got a partial fingerprint. EDIT - another question - how/when will I know if I've found all the food in the basement? Thanks RAL

Haven't found much food. Chutney, bread, ham, pickles and a salt grinder. Note book says - there seems to be a lot of food downhere.

The food is a clue to figure out what's been going on, so it makes sense that you'd need to find it all. I didn't keep track of all the food I found, so I don't remember exactly how much there was, so I don't know what you might be missing. To find everything, I think you need to search with the camera from every possible position in the room -- hotspots found after one or two steps into the room don't seem to be "hot" after four or five steps into the room, if that makes sense.

Hi Becky
Not sure I know what you mean by hotspots. Is that when the camera gives you that box which allows you to take a picture?

OK I scanned the whole basement - looked at all containers, used the I key and can't get the camera to open up so that I get a square box to allow me to take a photo or many photos. Maybe I should start the game over again and try and get all the food at the start of playing.

When I right click the camera works. But it only gives me a circle, no square. I can't take a picture if there is no square.

It's not a demo. It's a full game. A different case from 1 and 2.

Hi RAL -- I can only conclude that there's something small that you've missed while searching the basement with the camera. The only other possibility is that perhaps, in the van, you haven't linked all the photos that can be linked in the casebook? Or are there any photos in the van that you haven't yet processed via the computer?
Greatsmitty -- it's a free-standing mini-episode (not as long as the full episodes, but containing a full story and gameplay similar to the full episodes).

Hi RAL -- I'm sorry, I don't know how to figure out what you've missed, short of replaying the game myself and taking notes! I can't go back in and look at things because of the autosave feature, now that I've finished the game. At least, I don't think I can. I'll check it. EDIT: Yes, I can't go back to my previous game, so I'm having to start over. From scratch. EDIT AGAIN: I've replayed to the point where the line in the casebook that says "Find the food" gets crossed out. In the evidence folder everything that seems to be related to food is: The knife with butter on it (near the bread). The butter (in the large rectangular chest in front of the bike). These two need to be linked in the evidence folder.
Everything else I think you've found, RAL -- the bread, the chutney, the pickles, the ham and the salt grinder. I did run into a few other things that were technically related to food -- empty bottles, a decanter, a coffee urn, and a wine rack, but the game didn't place them in the evidence folder, so I don't think they're important.
