I don't know if I'm missing something or there's a glitch here. I freed Maurizio and got the nurse to sleep, yet this is all i could do. I can't get the anvil in the maintenance room, the doll nor the pink crystals in the lab !! Is it OK to leave it for now and move to the next step? But why can't I get them now anyway?

Hi nilecrystal,

This game is picky with how you position Holmes to collect items. Are you close enough to the doll to be able to pick it up? Perhaps crouching (using Ctrl key) will help. Similarly with the pink crystals, make sure you are close enough to the shelf for Holmes to take them. I can't recall if they are on a low shelf, so again, you may or may not need to crouch here.

You'll only be able to take the anvil after you have spoken to Becker and he has mentioned the arrival of the foreigners and their location downstairs, so that Holmes knows he has to figure out a way to get past the gates - so examine the gate area and its levers closely at this point.

Thank you Rushes. I figured it out. It's not about Holmes position. It's the same as with the anvil. I can pick the items only after being requested (though it was mentioned in the walkthrough that I could pick them now or later!!!)
