You may have troubles accessing BigFishGames today, they are making improvements. We have eliminated the $19.99, the $9.99 and the $7.99 pricing for our games from Big Fish Games' site and eliminated the 12 game requirement for those wanting to buy games for $6.99. Anyone. All games are now $6.99. There will still be a very robust Game Club subscription and all the benefits for members will continue as they are today plus several significant enhancements will be added in the coming weeks. A member is defined as someone who has the $6.99 monthly recurring payment active in return for a Game Credit and all the Game Club membership benefits (with more coming every month).
This is nothing new for long term Jumbo Game Club subscribers who can already activate and cancel as they please (aside from the upcoming enhancements to Game Club) and buy games for $6.99, but for the rest of the world, this is an easy way for price sensitive or commitment phobic customers to experiencing the benefits of what was previously a Jumbo Game Club membership, including price point, but without any hard requirements for quantity of purchases.
There are now no Casual, Super or Jumbo members, just Big Fish Game Club members. All Super and Casual pack members are being converted to the Jumbo price and all existing Game Club members' remaining game purchase 'commitment' requirements are being removed. You will be able to activate and cancel your membership to your hearts content from your My Account tab. If you cancel your recurring monthly credits stop, but your clock resets for the annual membership gifts and you lose access to all the Big Fish Game Club features like live chat customer service, early access to new releases and the other benefits, but there are no financial penalties.
This change is effective simultaneously in all countries and in all languages that we support (English, German, French, Spanish and Japanese).
Just our way of helping out during tough financial times! We try to make our games affordable and accessible for all visitors AND continue to add value to our offering for existing subscribers. In a few weeks there will be new 'benefits' that all Big Fish Game Club members will be very happy with.
Picman Reasons to stay a Club Member per BFG-Guy aka picman: Live chat customer service (coming to international customers very soon), premium email support off-hours, Tomorrow's Game Today, anniversary rewards, ability to participate in the Treasure Chest Promotions (yes, future promotions will not penalize historical frequent purchasers) and the best is yet to come and only a few weeks out! Stay tuned. If you do not value any of these (or the upcoming features...which I know you will ) then you can change your subscription status as you see fit based on your game consumption. If you on average buy at least one game a month anyway, there is only upside to being a subscriber.
Stay tuned for more info! Ana

Dorish, you are still a member and they are still working out the rollover to the new format. It'll get there soon. Ana

I wonder what the changes for exisiting members will be? Sounds exciting. Did you also read that link BFG-Guy posted over there about the investment into his company of $83M. They are using it to expand into other countries.. let me find the link. http://www.bizjournals.com/seattle/stories/2008/09/15/story4.html The news article is last year but he posted it today in the thread about the changes to the site.

WOW, glad to hear that there isn't a REAL problem with signing in. With it just being the changeover I'm sure they'll have it working again no time. Had a bit of a panic this morning when trying to log in and wasn't able to.... LOL Most people need their coffee in the AM, I need the new game on Bigfish.
The breeze from one door closing opens another.

Hmmm, as for Linds question, I read it differently as I don't think that one has to cancel every time one buys a game, that would be weird. You only need to cancel if you already are a member and no longer want to be since you don't get the price difference any more and you don't want to be automatically charged each month. I am a member and will stay as I already buy more than one game a month.
To love is to be happy with!

You will need to cancel each time, but there is no commitment so you can just cancel without the promise of more.

Hmmm ok so every single person that purchases from them from now is forced to join the game club as there is no other option?
Everyone has to join and then go to the trouble of cancelling their membership if they do not want a recurring fee.
I mean I think that is good that anyone can buy a game for $6.99 but I logged out and logged in as a new person and did not see it fully explained after I hit buy button and before I pressed create an account.
I think this will confuse some future purchasers that do just want to buy one game.
It does not effect me as I buy heaps of games a month just thinking of casual buyers- which seems there no longer can be without a bit of effort into cancelling your membership.
