Any hints to this puzzle anywhere? I have made it this far without looking at a walkthru but this has me stumped! I can figure out the dates , but I sure don't know who won and the flags etc! Is there any way to figure this stuff out within the game or am I gonna have to cheat or google?

The flags and jackets are trial and error to match up, there's no information within the game to help here. Pick a flag, then click through the selection of jackets in the box to its right. If no luck - rotate the flag to the next choice, and click again through the whole jacket selection. Repeat until you strike lucky and the bars for that particular set slide open.

Thanks Rushes! I have done a few puzzles already in the game that way- just recently opened a box doing a number puzzle and had no idea what I was doing but managed it by pure randomness. Makes me feel like I am missing the point somehow!

As I recall, this is the only partial trial and error puzzle that I did. Actually, I googled and used Wikipedia. I researched it.
