Don't know what is wrong but I can't get the magnifying glass on the adomen on the body, as It tells me to read the report. I have done everything but still can't get it. Please let me know what I am doing wrong.

Open up your Documents and read Dr. Henry Llewelyn's preliminary report in the death of Polly Nichols. Then you should be able to examine the body fully. luck

I'm in the same situation as cigar. And I was so proud of myself for only using the walkthrough once in the game! (so far anyway harhar).

I have the assembled ladder, have made hammer, used nails etc, but no matter what I do, there is no hand icon to place the ladder on the house. I'm 99% sure I'm in the right area as this is the same window where the gas leak comment was made. Right across from where Finely is sweeping. Correct?

I've tried both 1st person view and 3rd with no success. I've moved everywhere looking both up and down looking for that hand icon to place the ladder but nada. This is getting very frustrating.

Anything I could have missed?

You're correct. That is the building.

Before you get can get up there - just a review:
You need to be asked by Bluto to go there and get something.
You need to talk to Finley and he will mention the gas.
Then stand under the large window (there are 2; the other is smaller and is on the left).
Take the ladder and look up.
Move the cursor and the hand cursor should appear close to the base of that window. Click the ladder on that window.

Thanks mag. I realized my problem was, even though I had clicked on the nails and hammer they didn't actually disappear, (meaning the ladder was fully assembled), until I tried it several times.

Even though the ladder said it was assembled, it really wasn't until the nails and hammer were used on it which makes sense, but I think the game could have explained that better.

Appreciate the fast response though.

I'm in the wharfdale house, at the random lock box puzzle, in the body preparation room. Does someone have a save just after this puzzle is completed? I despise random puzzles, I always have! Help!! insane insane

You can do this puzzle - it's simple addition.
See the number outside the frame.
Look for numbers that will add up to get that number.
Enclose those numbers inside the movable frame.
Then click the button - I think it;s at bottom right.
Do this until all the numbers (yellow) are removed.

I have done it that way MaG.The trouble is, I either get stumped by the puzzle (number on top does not mach what I have left), which is most probably my fault, or I am not able to start the puzzle in the first place, because I can not add/move the square to correspond to the number on top.

It's on the way.

Edit oops I sent you a saved game before the puzzle.
Let me do the puzzle and get it back to you.

Edit again: Okay it's on the way to you after the puzzle.

I don't have a save at precisely this spot, the closest I have either side are the identification of the crime weapon (which I e-mailed to you earlier), or after examination of Liz Stride's body (which means you'd miss a section of play in Dutfield's Yard).

A replay from after the identification of the crime weapon should only take you about 10 minutes, but if you'd prefer the Liz Stride save just let me know.
