Hi, thanks again for saves, I have followed your instructions and have got your saves in my save folder, but they do not appear in the game when I load it, what am I doing wrong?

Hi Grandmakath,

Did you renumber the save to appear as the last numbered file in your save folder?

While in your game load screen, scroll all the way through the saves to the beginning, as they may be kept in date order.

Yes I have done all that, have been away, so did it all again when I returned, they are in my save folder but no where in the game,

I have put them into:

C/program files/Digital Jester/Frogware/The Case of the Silver Earring/save

I have tried about 6 times but they just do not go into the game, must be doing something wrong but do not know what.

Double check that you renumbered the save files correctly. The saves should have 4 digits only.

If the last save in your game was 0004 for example, then you should renumber MaG's saves to be 0005 and 0006 respectively.

As another example, if your last save was 0012, then the saves should be numbered respectively to 0013 and 0014.

Save the files that MaG sent to your desktop and renumber them there, then copy and paste across into the game folder along with all your other saves.

Exit the folder, start up the game as usual, and scroll right back to the beginning of all your saves. The new saves should be there.

Have another try and let us know how you get on. luck

Have done everything again, before I dragged and dropped the files into my save folder, but this time I copied and pasted, but still no saves appear in my game, I have renumbered them before I started with 0010 and 0011 (my last save was 0009) I have checked to make sure the saves I have done to my desktop have the image on and they have, I am ready to throw in the towel on this game, can't think of any other way I can do this, have followed all you instructions to the letter.

I'll send you my own save for this part, Grandmakath (after the second encounter with Marty & dog), see if that one will work for you. I still have all my saves for this game and they are in the same file location as you mention, so crossing fingers it will be compatible. Check your e-mail in a few minutes.

Grandmakath,

Please use one thread per game and also please post at the correct forum.
You can find all your posts at My Place at top of the page.

The saved game is on the way.
