Ok. Finvannaro or whatever his/my name is has just found the old witch dead in her hut, and has taken a path through the woods to the ship. I rang the bell, and the sailors are coming out, but because of the known visual issues with this game (which for me only appear when my character is outside), I then cannot SEE to get back to the rope attached to the crossbeam, to cut it. So I get killed. Ech.

Could someone please send me a saved game for just after that part, just after the crossbeam hits the sailors? (I looked at the WT, so I know that's what happens next). Or as soon after that bit as possible.

THANK YOU!

You are truly a lifesaver, MaG! Thanks so much. ;-)

Now let's see if I can remember how/where to save it, lol!

Ok, may I please have another save game? I am now at the point where I have chosen who I think the killer is, and have been ferried out to the shipwreck. I've managed to get the rope and the grappling hook by stumbling around, but because of the outside vision/game problems, I can't SEE anything, so I can't find the broken part of the ship's rail. Can you PLEASE send me a save game from just after you use the grappling hook, or as soon after that as possible? THANK YOU!

And by the way, what is the problem with the game visuals, anyway? You've all told me that that's just how this game is, but what did they do wrong, and why does it only happen when my character is outside?

-------------

MaG, PLEASE "wake up", lol! I'm on my lunch hour at work, and want to play the game! ;-)

Or if someone else can provide the save game I need, that would be great too.

MaG is busy right now, UpTooLate, we'll have to wait and see if anyone else has a saved game that they can send to you.

Also please use the Edit button if you want to add something to a post and if no-one has posted after you. Thanks.

Sorry, Rushes! I actually did combine two posts, but then forgot to do it again. frown

In any case, I finally did find the area I needed, lol, and continued with the game. Thanks, though! I may very well be back later asking for another save, lol.

Ok. I am at the FINAL scene. I don't want to give anything away, though I'm sure most of you have played this game already.

But you know how you have to step away, then over a bit to the stone line, then use the hand? It isn't working for me. frown Partly because of the visual disturbances of the game, but also I just can't seem to do it fast enough -- even though it seems pretty fast to me, it's not fast enough.

ANY ideas?

I've peeked at a couple of walkthroughs, but they say the same thing - as soon as you regain control of the cursor, immediately move forward and slightly left and use the hand on the stone vein. It may be a case of try, try again until you get it. Let's wait and see if anyone has a good suggestion for you. luck

Yeah, the WKs I looked at said the same thing. I've tried it about five times already, but I guess I'll keep trying. Thanks for responding, though! smile

Update:

Ok, it's not just me -- I have got this down to a science now, quick turn, forward, hand, and I STILL get killed EVERY time! I went on youtube to find the endscene, and got it, but it was in German and I don't speak German. frown

WHAT DO I DO?? AAAAAAGH, this is so frustrating!

I can imagine, with being so close to the end of the game. frown

Perhaps there's a specific point that you need to click on, hopefully someone will be able to remember. Did the YouTube video show this, or was it just the final cut scene?

Before you do this part, did you separate this stone vein so that no energy flow occurs to the altar?

Do you have only 3 runes lit up in the sky?

Are they the correct runes? Acra, Zeph and Inus runes

Then place the relic on altar and push that stone vein to get energy to flow again.

Ah. No, I have four or five runes lit up, lol -- I don't remember how many, because the game is loaded on my work computer and I am at home. But evidently therein lies the problem, lol!

One thing, though -- the names of the runes changed in different editions of the game, or from the walkthroughs, I'm not sure. I don't knowe if Acra, Zeph and Inus are the runes with which I'm working -- I will check on Monday when I get back to work.

THANK YOU!

I did have the stone vein separated before trying to place the relic, yes. So it's just a matter of sorting out the runes. Thanks so much!
