This was posted a few days ago in the Nucleosys developers forums by Agustin Cordes... Hey folks!
I'm awfully sorry about this excruciatingly long lack of news. I've no idea when I said that in the quote (and it might be possibly a year ago from now). Truth is, Nucleosys had been working on an educational adventure that took much longer than expected. In total, that project consumed the company nearly two years. It was thankfully finalized and released in Argentina - it's a very nice game if I may say so that was very well received, but I'm not sure if it'll be ever translated to English.
So, to be short, Nucleosys will be closing its doors soon. That announcement was also delayed as well. I know this isn't the news you've been expecting, and believe me when I tell you that I'm sorry to have kept you in the dark for so long. Reasons of this are many but pointless to detail now.
The good news is that both me and my ex-partner are planning to start new companies separately. [sentimental]And I vow here today, before you, that I'll keep making adventure games because I've been loving them for two decades and nothing has ever gave me such satisfaction as having great fans like you.[/sentimental]
So there - now you have closure. It's time to move along, nothing to see here.
I'll be back, one day, when I feel like it.

It was an educational game about taxes.

Yeah Agustin wrote: Taxes. No kidding. The game was ordered by the taxation office of Argentina. It's free and a very fun game if you overlook the educational part, which isn't so bad for that matter: http://martina.afip.gov.arIt has a HUGE amount of locations and characters and comes highly recommended! The game can be directly translated as "Risk Profile: Federal Cases".
I'll be back, one day, when I feel like it.

Is the goal to make you enjoy paying your taxes? It's educational, it teaches you that if you don't pay your taxes you go to jail

Now all we need is an IRS sim! Audit helpless citizens into insanity and laugh maniacally all the while. Some people apparently find that fun. It's particularly sad that, with so many of my other favorite titles seeing sequels/new franchises (Dark Fall, Barrow Hill, Coven), Scratches won't be among them. Best o' luck to 'em, regardless.
