Thanks Ana wave

I was disappointed with this one, maybe I expected too much.
It's a hog, with some items needed from the inventory, but nothing much exciting about it.

I hate to sound a whinger, but find the quality of some HOG's lately are not up to expectation frown

Sorry folks frown

I'm not going to say this one is not good... it's very well done actually, but the objects are far too small for my old eyes.

I also got very mad... they ask for a pear and there is a whole bowl of them on the table. I clicked like mad on each one and of course... the real one is hidden elsewhere. I find that to be unfair. If you gamemakers ask for an object, there should be only one in the picture... in my opinion.

I also hated the music. Violin music is very intense and I found it bothersome.

I was also frustrated with the Bible. I know the combination but click as I may, I cannot get the numbers to change so I can put in the right number. I click on the red arrows and NOTHING happens.

On the positive side, the layout of the game is A-1, it looks like a long game and the graphics are beautiful.

I guess it is one of those games where it's value is in the lap of the beholder.

Anxiously awaiting: Drawn the Painted Tower.

It looks good, but what may be fun on a big monitor may be too small for a laptop.

Well I may be exception to the all others, but I like it. It's not really a straight HOG, and it's not the best IHOG either. I think the graphics are great and the story is good. I like story driven games, so may be that's why I like it I don't know. I don't think the objects are that difficult to find or small for that matter, but depends on the eyes and with my glasses I haven't had any problem at all. NYLady I had the same issue with the bible but then realized that you have to use the clue (the one that gives the combination) you find in the scene in the little square when bible opens up then you can put the numbers in. Took me a minute to figure it out, however. I have not been able to stop playing since I bought it so for me it really isn't that bad at all. I quite like it. There have been others that I have deleted almost immediately. This isn't one of them. I guess to each his/her own. That's what makes the world go round.

I found with the bible the slip of paper with verse was needed to open it and place it on the left side. I found some things hard to see but, it is a challanage to play. It is like some of other hog games not everything is not in the first scene you have to check the four area's your investigation then you find objects needed. I like that they stuck with period items in this.

I agree with Barbara, I bought it after 5 minutes of the demo. The storyline is important to me also and this one caught my interest. We also can use some of the objects we find so it is a bit IHOG in that regards. The graphics are beautifully drawn, the hint meter fills up fast. I really bought the game quick when at the start of the game there is speech. Give me voices in a game and I usually always buy it. The violin music can be muted if you want so that is no problem. I love being able to play with no timer also. Peaceful and relaxing mystery game.

I agree the graphics are very good on this game and the story itself is ok.
This game is alright, the objects can be very hard to find at times and the repetitiveness of searching same rooms made me take many breaks from this game.

The mini puzzles could have been more challenging and if they added some interactiveness with the searching and not just for the puzzles it would have been more appealing.

I, too, had very mixed feelings and will wait for reviews of the full game. I couldn't get past the first suspect in the one hour and, since there are nine, would guess this is a long game. I agree that some objects are very hard and don't like the vague circling of an area that the hint button gives. Even with a hint I was sometimes unable to find the desired object. I'm playing on a 17" laptop which may limit visual precision. I liked the musical background, although would hope it changes during the ensuing suspect screens. It's wait and see for me...

I played the game and found all of it delightful. The music was appropriate and good; the graphics were good and although the objects were sometimes hard to find, it wasn't impossible. I thought it was a very good game. The voices are very good. All in all, I found it to be well worth the time and small amount of money. I'd recommend it. Teddo

I like a lot of things about this game, but I'm unable to find some of the objects, even with the hint circle. Either I am totally inept, which I highly doubt is the case, the game needs a new download, or the objects are just plain obscure. The bowl of pears also disappointed me, when the real "pear" was hidden elsewhere.

I'm still debating whether it's worth a credit. especially since I read and loved the original novel by Wilkie Collins.

This game was pretty good. The graphics and the music were well done, in my humble opinion BUT has anyone had it crash in the ending scenes? I chose my culprit and it went into a scene where the detective is informing who the villian is and then it goes dark, crash, no more and then the game player from BF thanking you for playing the game. I tried it twice more and same thing but in different parts of the final explanation. Has this happened to anyone else? I will tell BF what happened.
