I am a huge fan of the Nancy Drew games, and I have played all of them through several times. I was really disappointed with Ransom, though. Like others have said, I found the puzzles much tougher than usual and more obscure and the game is just generally rather dull. I got very quickly bored of driving round and round the island in the golf buggy (why not just use a fast-travel map, like usual?). I live in hope, however, that this is just a blip in an otherwise fantastic series of games. I like the sound of the next one.

SpaceQF, play the earlier games if you can. As Ana said, they can be dowloaded on the cheap or get them at stores like Target.

They have the earlier games at about 10 bucks each.

Herinteractive has the whole list for you to look at! smile

Dear forest animals,
I've been singing for over an hour, where are you?

I have to agree about Ransom, it is not one of my favorite Nancy Drew and I also have them all. About the Monkey though I really think it is adorable wish I could have one for a pet, however the game gets tedious after so many times you have to play to win. I can't complain though I got it from BFG so it is worth it.

Looking forward to new Nancy Drew.

I have the entire ND collection and have enjoyed every one except Ransom. I didn't care for it at all. I really hope Waverly Academy will be more like the old ND I knew and enjoyed. confused

Not to be looking backwards, but I do seem to remember when Nancy Drew games were brought up in discussions of other games in somewhat "bad" terms, for example "not another soda fountain gig" or putting that recipe together made me think of that "Nancy Drew" or picking the vegetables was boring. So I guess it's what's playing in your mind at the moment that makes the most sense...and we...oops I (only can speak for myself) make the most of what I have at that time amd like what I like at that time just like when we discussed casual vs. adventure and how moods can cause us to switch back and forth. Just a thought!

Looks good smile Ransom of the Seven Ships was a bit of a letdown (WTH WAS WITH THE ENDING?!), but this one looks super-interesting.

I have to agree I also bought N.D. Seven Ships and was disappointed in the game. Cute bird though and loved the monkeys. One of the things I like about true adventure games is the different characters we meet the more the better.

Please N.D Game designers get back to introducing us to more characters in the games and less running back and forth to same locations. I became bored with running back and forth to same locations on the island to solve the bird puzzle for fruit. Geesh!

I have always loved N.D Games because speaking to so many different characters and all have different personalities. I hope Waverly gets back to that as well as please let us have option to skip mini game puzzles when we get stuck.

Thank you Ana for the news - I will catch up with both NDs at the end of the year! I have to have my fix whatever they are like happydance - I just have to remind myself when playing that they are made to cater for players much younger than myself! lol
