Hello I was wondering if someone could tell me where the mysterious island 2 saved game files are stored. I backed up my hard drive before having to reimage it and am now reinstalling the game. The problem is I can`t find any saved game files. I was just chopping the wood poles for the markers to try and reach the 340ft.

Try this: C:, Documents and Setting, All Users, RTMI2-BF, Saves. Good luck. Chief

thanks Chief, but I`m running vista, so no docs and settings or all users... i guess what i`m asking, is are the saves in the rnt to myst island folder under prg files or under my docs and what is the actual extension. I am not seeing anything that remotely looks like a save file.

Have you tried doing a Search on your computer for the game and hopefully the saves?

everything is on my external hard drive and I can find the program files no problem but I can`t find anything that looks like a conventional save file. Usually the files have the word save in them and I am not seeing any such thing. Can you tell me what your save file looks like... ie file name and extension...

I finished that game some time back. I had only written down where the saves were and I can't tell you what they look like.
I'm sure that MaG or Rushes or someone playing the game will help you.

I've just checked a save for this game - it is titled Save.002 Hope that helps you locate them.

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with Vista or the save folder location for this game. Hopefully someone who has played using Vista will be able to let us know.

For XP they are at: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\RTMI2-BF\Saves

Look at the second post of this topic to see the info about where they are located.

Right, sorry chief thanks for all your help but despite having the program files for RTMI2, not even a search for save files can locate what I am looking for. I have found save files for just about every other game I have ever played. I guess I am left hoping someone has a save file for me that they can send. I was just in the process of cutting the long poles into pieces for the 340ft lookout...

Thank You Mag! Again you have come to my rescue. I got an Email from Big Fish Games (where I downloaded the game from) and was informed that game saves for RTMI2 on Vista are located in the program data files and you can only find them if you show hidden files. Also a complete backup of your hardrive won't transfer the program data files unless you specify... so live and learn I guess. Thanks again!

You can use this saved game that I sent. Play the game and then save. Open that saved game folder. renumber the one I sent to be the next number. Place it there and play-load. You don't need to replay.
