I have been playing this game up to almost the end and hve been collecting the tokens for the tunnel puzzle. My cat walked across my keyboard and the game went black. When I got it back, all the tokens that I had gathered were gone, but the game indicated that they had been found. Is there any way to get them back or be able to repeat the chapter? Without the tokens, I can't go on or go back.

I hope that your problem was resolved and that you were able to finish the game.

If you are still stuck from your cat taking a stroll on your keyboard, what chapter does the game start at now? Are you starting at Chapter 30 or Chapter 31?

If your game is starting at Chapter 31 - Bomb Lair, the coins aren't in your inventory area. They are now shown on both sides of the screen. You just roate the dials and place the coins where appropriate.

I guess I'm on Chapter 30 because I didn't get the last coin before the cat took her stroll. I was just at the point where I should have got the last token (coin), but I didn't get it.

If you still have a problem you might try Q's trick to get back to chapter 22. At least then you wouldn't have to start all over. It's on page 4 of the larger thread on this game.

First let's determine exactly in which game chapter you are currently located.

Open the game, select play, then select the Case Notes Book on your lower left (it's to the right of the menu). When the book opens, look at the top of the left page,and it shows your current Chapter number and name.

Yes, i am on Chapter 30 Secret Garden. Can you tellme if there is a way to go back to the beginning of the Chapter. I can always go around and collect the tokens (coins) again.

ruthie, the game auto saves so unfortunately the only memory your game has is the one that pops up when you open it. Sorry...

Oh well, I guess I can play it again. I've already played it two other times to be able to choose my pick of the bomber. I just was hoping to be able to finish with my pick in that game. Each pick of a bomber seems to have a slightly different ending. It would be nice to be able to just go back part way and then make the choice of the bomber and not have to play the entire game again and again.

ruthie, if you look in the Nancy drew thread here you will find some posts by QAdventures explaining how to change the name of the save to get difference endings. You could try that.

PATSY, don't wait for the caller to finish the sentence. Ignore the voice and read the sentence on the top of the screen instead.

Just scan for key words and click on the appropriate button. It took me numerous tries and a bit of hair pulling, but it is doable if you take off the sound and read instead of listen.

Apparently Q's trick doesn't work for Vista. I am just restarting the game from scratch in order to see the several different suspects and endings. I also agree about the telephone answering game, but after you have lost several times, you get to know the right places to forward the calls. It took me several times to finally get through it.

Personally I would have liked more of the telephone-answering puzzles and fewer of the bomb-defusing ones.

I'm not sure why hippocratesbell didn't work for you. It worked on my Vista machine, and as you can see it worked for Springchicken.



If you would ever try the 'cheat' again, be sure that you have successfully completed the game at least once, so that you have the file hippocratesbell in your game folder. Then enter the player name as hippocratesbell, anything else will not work, and hopefully you should be at Chapter 22.
