OMG... bought it after just 3 minutes into it. It reminds me of Return to Ravenhurst. It is very much like it. The music, suspense and even the hidden objects are very much like RTR. This one will be a bit hit. On a scale of 1-10 I rate it a 15 (RTR was a 16).
Prices are going up everywhere except in our incomes.

Grand Slam home run with this one! A lot of the hidden objects are very tiny, which seems to be a common problem with most of the new games, but otherwise everything about this game is wonderful.

The one thing that put me off when it came to even trying this game was the following statement, which appeared on the BFG download page:
"WARNING: May contain disturbing imagery and themes."
I note that this game has been compared to RTR. Can anyone enlighten me as to whether the story is the basis of the comparison (i.e., it's a psychological thriller) or is it more because of extraordinary graphics, music, creative and challenging puzzles, etc.?
I haven't mentioned this before as I'm sure from the game's widespread success that my view isn't common, but the RTR story actually bothered me quite a bit. I found the themes of women being kidnapped and held in bondage, multi-generational victimization extending over decades, and psychological torture to be pretty doggone off putting.
The whole time I played I kept thinking, "I don't know who wrote this, but I sure hope they're in therapy!"
So is this game's story like that, too? I've put off downloading the demo until I know.

I thought the story line in RTR was compelling. It was after all just a story, but it made me want to save the charcters.. I also thought the game itself was very well made, which made playing it all the more enjoyable. I have played other games in which the story lines could be pretty creepy, but only one really bothered me.(I think it was Sanatarium.)
I can't answer you question about this game, I have only played for a little while, but it seems to be well made, and so far I am enjoying it.If you check out the comments over on the BFG blog, that might help you decide if this is a game you would like.

I played the full hour of the demo and it ended at the beginning of the chapter 7. There are 13 chapters in all, it seems pretty short game. Has anybody finished it yet?

Right now I am almost two hours into it... I am by a flooded area & I am taking my time... The hidden object part of the game is very easy...The mini games aren't hard at all.. I just love the scenery ..So I am clicking on things in every room GPM...I don't know why BF would put this Warning "May contain disturbing imagery and themes" I see nothing wrong or disturbing with this game at all.... But do watch out for the Spider Puppet That little guy might be disturbing

I am currently playing "Puppetshow", and it is good. The item Darlene mentiond is a bit unnerving, haven't played too long yso it hasn't gotten in my way to much...yet.
And, thracia, I agree with you about "Sanatarium".

I finished in less than 3 hours, including the demo, too short, but enjoyed it very much. The mini games were very easy. No need to skip, although there is that option. Unless, of course you hate sliders. There is one. I like them. The ending said... to be continued... I look forward to the sequel. Great game! Joan

I feel that this one is a winner. I, too, felt echoes of RTR. Perhaps the pathos is the connection. I haven't finished yet, but so far I haven't run into anything distasteful or alarming. Cheers, BFG. Teddo

I agree AZhot, there is no comparison to RTR. This one is only slightly reminiscent. Even so, I am enjoying it.

Just finished! Very short but very sweet. I've played a few HOG's recently where some of the objects to find don't seem to match their description, but this isn't one of them (I guess it's a translation thing) PuppetShow is a nice game. Would recommend for the Big Fish price.

I finished last night. It was a great game but definitely no comparison to RTR for me. I was more blown away by Drawn as my number 1 game of the year. Ana
