I am at the lighthouse. I got the back and side door opened. Went in got the lightbulb and pushed on the stovepipe. got down to the sea caves and now I'm suppose to go back and put the bulb in the top of the lighthouse but can't find my way out. I hear the dinging but a sold grey door won't let me through. Please help I keep going around in circles. I have the walkthrough but still can't find a way out.

If you went down, can you not find the ladder you used to get down here.

I see a green ladder which won't let me go up, I have an arrow that points left, then theres a brown ladder I can go up where there's some light on the right but when I try to go up more I just end back up at the bottom. Which ladder am I suppose to use?

It has been a long time since I played this.
But from your description, I would think it is the brown ladder.
Once you see the light, exit. I think it is one level to the outside.
