Nancy Drew employs her magnifying glass at a posh girls' school, hoping to find the perpetrator of some nasty poison pen letters. Rushes places the game within the pantheon of Nancy Drew mysteries -- is it more like the traditional Nancy Drew games, or does it follow the formula set by the previous game, Ransom of the Seven Ships? Thank you Rushes, I'm feeling much better now that I know that Nancy is back to her usual self, I'm playing Ransom and I can't stand it!

Thank you Becky for announcing Rushes' review. When I read that "Waverly Academy" is
"...back up to the usual high standard we’ve become accustomed to with Nancy Drew, carrying an involving storyline, puzzles that entertain and stretch the brain in all the right places..."
... well, Rushes had my attention! And I was mentally jumping up and down and thinking, "YAY!!!".
I'm one of the disappointed fans (but from earlier on). HerInteractive must've listened to some of us unhappy campers, changing a few things back to the way they were.
Will I be able to tolerate being forced to work the snack shop counter, in order to avoid demerits and expulsion? Well, I just might be ready to buy this ND game & find out. After reading Rushes' review, a change-of-heart --after several disgruntled years-- could be just around the corner!

I ran out and purchased Waverly after playing the demo. My last Nancy Drew purchase was Castle Malloy, and I was so disappointed with it. I played the demo for Ransom and similarly was disappointed, but thus far I'm really enjoying Warnings at Waverly Academy.
Oh, and the "Snack Shop" thing has been a staple in many ND games like "The White Wolf of Icicle Creek", "Secret of Shadow Ranch," and "Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon." Personally, I don't mind these types of puzzles.

Hi, Becky!
Thanks for the link. I thought Rush's review was bang on and found "Waverly" to be a thoroughly enjoyable game. Other than one or two moments (the reveal of the culprit being one of them), I did not enjoy "Ransom" at all,, so it's nice to see the game developers return to their roots with "Waverly" giving us interesting characters, solvable puzzles and an intriguing storyline.

Thanks, everyone. Let's hope the trend of far fewer timed puzzles in ND games will continue. I thought that Ransom was completely spoiled due to all those timed sections.

Oh, I thought I was alone in my dislike of Ransom. I've played this series from the beginning and it almost feels sacrilegious to condemn one of the Nancy series. I'm glad to hear Waverly is a good one.
Any chance Big Fish might get this one soon? That'd be super!

I am glad that this game has gone back to the more traditional format. I did not like Ransom Of The Seven Ships. Even Castle Malloy was too far out.(jet packing around the castle was really stupid)I hope that HER Interactive continues to create their upcoming games in the traditional way.

The Dossier just came out so figure about 9 mths from the last releas if they follow suit with previous. Her Interactive would like as many downloads from their site as possible. It will becoming soon but they want a chance for some direct sales as well. Ana
