Although I've won the Pente puzzle against Stauf at 4 - 5 A.M. this morning, I chose Robin at the end and lost the game. So I'm replaying the Pente puzzle (as I didn't save my game following my Pente puzzle win earlier this morning), but this time, Stauf always beats me. I'd like to win this puzzle this second time around and this time pick Samantha and win the game, sooo...

If anyone either has a fail-safe method of winning this puzzle the second time around, or a save after the Pente puzzle win, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Don't access it then. You're the third gamer that got that message so best to skip that site.
I didn't get the message so I thought it was a fluke.

I've been reading some walkthroughs and it seems like it gives you hints on how to do the last one but there is no one sure way-- good luck.

hint from just adventure

I found this to be one of the hardest against Stauf, and reset the game many times. You have to watch his moves carefully, and any time he has three in a row, put a piece of yours at one end as a block. If you don't, his next move will be four in line, and then you've lost.

He's very tricky with those threes, too, as they aren't always together; often, he will make threes with two together and the third one space away. If you don't catch that, he'll win, and it's easy to overlook (as I know!).

At the same time, Stauf does seem to overlook things himself once in awhile, which is how I managed to win. I had three in a row, but he seemed so busy capturing my pieces, he just didn't notice, and I made it four, which was all for Stauf.

Thanks, all - I reinstalled the game on on my netbook and I had to play from the very beginning again as a "new game". But this time I had Sam solve all the puzzles and at the pente puzzle, I found a way to block Stauf's laughter/taunts, and after several tries, I beat him at this puzzle - and this time I chose Sam during the end sequence, thus winning finally!

Wonderful!
