MaG,
I just started Chronicles of Mystery: Tree of Life. It is good, but of course, I am already stuck. I keep thinking, boy could I use one of your walkthroughs. Any chance that you might be working on it? Pathetic, isn't it, that I have become so dependent on you...

Hi zak,
A full walkthrough is already on the DVD? That's excellent news! Is it clear and detailed?

Zak,
I have been wandering around and can't progress and the characters won't say anything more to me.The inn is closed and I can't walk anywhere but the inn, courtyard and museum.
I am trying to open the box with the combination and the breakfront in the workroom.I know that one of the numbers is a 2 because Claire said something about an anniversary on the second.I have the clues from the dictaphone but don't know how they relate to a number. I have also looked at the pillars with the frescas.
I have the empty cartridge for the copier but haven't found any ink for it. I also have several other inventory items (wire, paint brush, bottle, and another brush,I think). I am at work and trying to remember what I have in my inventory. Obviously I have missed something but I have retraced my steps and looked at everything again but I still can't advance.
Didn't realize that there is a built in hint system for the game. How do I access it? Can't wait to go home and play more of it! I really like it, so far.
Thanks!

Zak says it's in the DVD. So go to your My Computer. Then right click and select open the Tree diskthat should be in your DVD drive. Check if there is the .pdf file in there. Copy it and paste it on your desktop. See if that helps.

Lise,
I now know the other numbers so that I can open the chest. Hopefully I can move forward (until I get stuck again)!
Thank you.

Thanks! As u said ureself 2 is the last number according to the "text" u found the other 2 clues is gale and jupitar, try examine the pictures in the small room closely he will actually says he it looks like the gale + a number, now for jupitar its a bit tricky in the big room where with the ships u can actually click the roof "vault" which gives the last number. Checked the walkthrough more on the dvd its very datailed on puzzles with pictures.

Sylvie autographs the book that is already in the inventory if you stopped at the table where the books are and looked at a copy when you first came into that scene. I kept trying to use the pen on the stack of books still on the table, and then I remembered that I had seen a copy of it early on, so checked inventory (what the game calls a pocket) and there it was! She will sign on the second page where her picture is.

Hi gatsbygirl, I don't know if this will help, but this is the experience I had with it. First I tried the hints in the game walkthrough, then I checked the GB walkthrough, but that didn't help either, confused me even more. This type of puzzle where you move one thing and another thing also moves at the same is what I call a Rubic-cube type and I do not liike them because I can't do them. Okay, so I'm really, really frustrated at this point and I just started madly turning and spinning all the circles as fast as I could, around and around in one big swirl. Then I ran out of steam and started slowing down (maybe I even stopped, not sure here) but suddenly a male voice said, "Two circles are now aligned the correct way," something like that which took me completely by surprise! I think they were locked into place. The next two just seemed to line up very quickly and the puzzle was done before I actually knew what happened. I crossed my fingers and checked the 4 squares and found the seeds that matched. Went on with the game. It was a lucky fluke for me, but who knows, maybe it will work for you or something equally unexpected if you keep trying, or get frustrated/angry enough. Anyway, I wish you a lot of luck.

"Okay, so I'm really, really frustrated at this point and I just started madly turning and spinning all the circles as fast as I could, around and around in one big swirl."
LOL. I know what you mean, sierramindy. That's more or less the story of my life.
This puzzle is actually easier than most because the circles move in pairs. If one circle moves, say, 2 places while the other circle moves, say 3 places, then they will align after some multiple of 6 clicks, the least common multiple. That's probably why your technique eventually (and accidently)worked.
The "male voice" you heard was the Count, who acts as kibitzer through much of the game.
BTW, the solution I gave in my walkthru works only if you haven't touched anything (unless the puzzle is randomized). Not being able to reset puzzles in this game is kind of a pain.
If trigonometry evolved from geometry, why is there still geometry?

Hi ronrob, Oh, I had no idea that you just click on the circles! I thought it was a click-hold-drag type of movement, which is continuous so no multiple involved. No wonder I didn't understand your solution so was never able to try it. Many thanks for clearing up the mystery of why my method did work and for the name of the male voice. Finding all this out just adds to my enjoyment of the game!
Hi gatsbygirl, I'm glad you solved the puzzle too. Maybe, dumb luck is kind of a skill also, one that doesn't get enough credit! I can usually line up circles one at a time, but when 2 get into the act, I'm completely lost. It is hard enough to find the right design so why do they make it even harder? Sometimes I think game designers hate us! Is that being paranoid? Hmm.

Read the walkthrough and just can't get this puzzle to work. Have been spinning these circles & a couple look like they are lined up, but something is still missing. Very frustrated.

Can anyone help me get through the spinning circle puzzle? I can't get the circles to spin by just clicking on them, I have to hold the left mouse button down & move the mouse around the circles. A few times I heard a loud clunk, but nothing locked together. In the walkthrough, which is circle one, the largest circle or the one next to the middle circle? I was doing great until I got to this part. Very tiring.

Hi Ladybug, Let's wait for help from someone familiar with this puzzle. Hang in there.

Ladybug, if you're asking about my walkthru, "circle 1" means the center circle. Then number outwards - - 2, 3 and 4. I see that I neglected to say that. Sorry.
Again, though, the solution I gave works only if you haven't moved any of the circles, and the puzzle has no reset. The only thing I can suggest is that you set circle 1, the inner circle, according to the graphic in the walkthru, and then keep dragging circle 2 around and around until circle 2 and circle 4 lock, as announced by the Count.
Then move circles 2 and 4 into place per the graphic. Finally set circle 3. Yes, it's a maddening puzzle, but don't give up. You'll get it.
If trigonometry evolved from geometry, why is there still geometry?
