to GameBoomers Incognito! Are you looking for adventure games or do you mean puzzle games like Safecracker or Azada? EDIT: Hi Becky!

Adding to what has already been mentioned -- here are the games that ranked up to the number 20 in last year's GB Annual List that I played and thought had the most challenging puzzles. Grim Fandango Keepsake Sherlock Holmes Nemesis Darkness Within: In Pursuit of Loath Nolder Riddle of the Sphinx: An Egyptian Adventure Mysterious Journey 2: Chameleon Sentinel: Descendants in Time/Realms of Illusion Yoomurjak's Ring Note: it's a bit hard to separate games with puzzles that are difficult and fair from games that are difficult because of poor puzzle design -- often examples of both types of puzzles are to be found in the same game. And, frankly, I tend to think the puzzles that are well designed are the ones I work at until I understand, and the ones that are poorly designed are the ones I don't understand on my own. Though often other gamers may "get" the ones I don't, and vice versa.

I agree with a lot of the games mentioned: Keepsake, great game but hard; Obsidian-very different and worth playing; the Myst games particularly after the first one (at least for me),but by far the most difficult for me (but also enjoyable) was Black Dahlia. Boy, I had that walkthrough sitting right next to me!
The answer is....chocolate! Who cares what the question is.....

I shall add Chemicus to the difficult list, at least for me.

I shall add Chemicus to the difficult list, at least for me. I agree. I also remembered a few more: Drowned God Milo Chaos a Fantasy Adventure Entombed Enhanced

I would agree with a lot of those mentioned, and Jenny100s list is pretty spot on. Ones that particularly stick in my mind were:
Schizm 1 RAMA Black Dahlia Drowned God Rhem 1 Alida Riven
Quantity has a quality all of its own

Mchinarium & Samarost were very puzzle oriented, and also lots of fun! Have you tried "Rooms: The Main Building "?

Barb, I remember having trouble with the computer in GK3. Black Dahlia was tough but what a great game.
It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

Among the most challenging games I've played so far were the following: - Shivers; really tough puzzles but great fun nonetheless - Agon; from episode 3 onward, the puzzles become harder and harder - Myst; I must admit I gave up on it after I don't know how many times. Last time I attempted to play the game, I used a walkthrough and even then the game just didn't work for me. - Dracula 3 - Path of the Dragon has some very hard puzzles, I think - GK3 - great game but I remember using a walkthrough for most of the last chapter; especially the chess board and the computer made me give up to a certain extent. - Outcry has some tough puzzles as you progress; the tough thing about Outcry is that you don't get any hints as what to do next and no hints as why you're doing what you're doing.
Shiny.
