Is this game totally linear? I realized I have not followed the w/t and am now stuck.
Have just done the gear puzzle. Part of bridge moves. It is mentioned that "just a little more work" will do it. w/t says go to "columns room" and something protected by lava. My hint icon is gone, and I can't get anywhere. Please help! Thanks.

Have you gone through the walkthrough and checked that you have done everything to that point?

I am trying to play the game by myself, with only occasional looks at the w/t. If it is entirely linear, I may have to start over. Thanks.

Laurette...

I played this game over the weekend (although I have yet to complete it). The game is not truly linear in that when you go to an area, you need to complete the puzzles in that area (in all the alcoves) in order to advance to a new area, but the order of completion can vary.

With respect to the bridge there are two puzzles to complete in order to get the bridge fully moved....the gear puzzle and the pulley puzzle. You may have to backtrack to make sure you've cleared all the puzzles in each of the areas.

Thank you, JKEerie! It's a pretty fun game, I think.

Yes it is! It's really not a difficult game, with straight-forward puzzles. I'm not too far from the end, I fear. I'll be very disappointed when it's over. frown

JKerie: Just finished the game. And am sorry it's over. Looking forward to more episodes!

I thoroughly enjoyed this game and would recommend it. Smashing puzzles - very ingenious - never got bored and it never seemed repetitive.
One of the best casual games I've played so far.
Looking forward to Chapter 2.
