I followed the walkthrough and tried to do every step up to the point of getting the key from the stag's head. It will not let me look at the chest or get the key from the head. He just says I need to do more investagating before he goes to sleep. Does anyone know what I have done wrong?

Here are some things you could try:

Check/click on the far left corridor wall in the cottage - Nigel should comment.

Check/click on the bathroom mirror and bathtub.

Examine everything in the kitchen.

Those are the most common overlooked areas.

Yes I did all of that and even went back and did everything again. Do you have to do things in exact order, because when I went into the cottage I looked around up stairs first. I like to do what I can before using the walkthrough. Any more suggestions.

Right click the stag head or the chest. See if that helps.

It turns out that it was the mirror in the bathroom. After going back over everything again. It was just looking into the mirror that I must have missed. Thank you for all your help. I will continue my game again. Thanks millions.
