I am in room 1A and I am trying to get the eyeball between the boards. I have scissors but they have broken twice now. I keep having to go back to 1B to retrieve another pair.

Is there a certain hand movement that I have to do in order to pry out the eyeball w/o the scissors breaking?

Save your game before doing the puzzle so that you don't need to get a new scissor.
Then - Click-hold-move up/down on the hole to dislodge the eye.
Don't move it forward-backward. Pry the eye up-down.
